    Abstract: To provide a display device in which the brightness of the image viewed by the observer is bright, and the brightness of the image is as uniform as possible. The display device according to the present invention includes a frame 10 and an image display device 100, the image display device 100 includes an image forming apparatus 11 and an optical device 120, the optical device 120 includes a light guide plate 121, a first deflection unit 130 configured with a first hologram diffraction grating 131 and a second hologram diffraction grating 135, and a second deflection unit 140 configured with a third hologram diffraction grating 141, and slant angles and pitches of the first hologram diffraction grating 131, the second hologram diffraction grating 135, and the third hologram diffraction grating 141 satisfy a predetermined relation.

    Abstract: It is an object of the present invention to provide a display apparatus having a configuration and a structure that enable virtual images to be observed by an observer to exhibit high contrast, and enable the observer who uses the display apparatus to safely act in a real environment while reliably recognizing an external environment. A display apparatus of the present invention includes: a frame to be mounted to a head of an observer; an image display apparatus attached to the frame; and a dimming apparatus 700. The image display apparatus includes an image forming apparatus, and an optical apparatus 120 having a virtual-image forming region 701 in which virtual images are formed. The optical apparatus 120 overlaps with at least a part of the dimming apparatus 700. When the dimming apparatus 700 operates, a light blocking rate of the dimming apparatus decreases, for example, from an upper region and an outer-side region of a virtual-image-forming-region facing region 701 toward a central portion of the virtual-image-forming-region facing region.

    Abstract: There is provided a display device including (I) an eyeglass-shaped frame configured to be mounted on a head of an observer, and (II) an image display device attached to the frame. The image display device includes (A) an image forming device, and (B) an optical device on which light output from the image forming device is incident, in which the light is guided, and from which the light is output. A dimmer configured to adjust an amount of external light incident from outside is installed on a side opposite to a side on which the image forming device of the optical device is disposed.     Abstract: A display device includes a frame that includes a front portion, temple portions, and a pad portion, and is mounted on head of an observer, and an image display device attached to the frame. The image display device includes an image forming device, and an optical device on which light emitted from the image forming device is incident and from which the light is emitted toward the observer. One end portion of the optical device is fixed to a temple portion side of the front portion. Other end portion of the optical device is on a pad portion side of the front portion. A light shielding member that prevents external light from being incident on the other end portion of the optical device from above the other end portion of the optical device is attached to the pad portion side of the front portion.
