Abstract: A system includes a hearing instrument and a case configured to store at least a portion of the hearing instrument. The hearing instrument includes a speaker configured to generate a sound wave, and at least one magnetic component that includes one or more of a coil configured to generate a current in response to detecting an alternating magnetic field, a magnetic shield configured to provide an electromagnetic shield for one or more components of the hearing instrument, a crosspin configured to provide a structural support between two opposing sides of the hearing instrument, a battery, or a charging contact configured to electrically couple the battery to a power source. The case includes a retention magnet configured to generate a static magnetic field that detachably couples at least the portion of the hearing instrument with the case by attracting the magnetic component of the hearing instrument to the case retention magnet.

Abstract: To provide improved feedback reduction in hearing assistance devices, technical solutions described herein include remeasuring a feedback path and updating adaptive feedback cancellation parameters whenever a user receives and plays an audio stream signal. When the user converts the audio stream signal into an acoustic audio signal using a speaker within the hearing assistance device, a feedback portion of the acoustic audio signal may be fed back into the microphone of the hearing assistance device. The hearing assistance device can then compare the feedback portion to the received audio stream signal, and that comparison can be used to update adaptive feedback cancellation parameters within the hearing assistance device. When the hearing assistance device receives an acoustic audio input at the microphone, it may amplify that input and apply the received acoustic audio input based on the updated adaptive feedback cancellation parameters to reduce or minimize feedback.

Abstract: A system, such as an ear-wearable device or a hearing aid, can receive multiple audio signals representing a same audio content, can cross-correlate the multiple audio signals to determine relative delays between the audio signals, can apply the determined delays to at least one of the audio signals to form multiple synchronized audio signals, and can mix at least two of the synchronized audio signals in time-varying proportions to form an output audio signal. The system can optionally adjust the mix proportions, in real time, to increase or optimize the signal-to-noise ratio of the output audio signal. The system can optionally perform the cross-correlation repeatedly, at regular or irregular time intervals, to update the relative delays. The system can optionally divide the audio signals into frequency bands, and apply these operations to each frequency band, independent of the other frequency bands.

Abstract: An example of a hearing system for delivering sounds to a user may include a core module and an interchangeable transducer module. The transducer circuit may include a memory circuit storing calibration information for the transducer(s).
