Abstract: A pilotless drone is equipped with a life preserver or other buoyant device for delivery to a distressed swimmer. The drone includes a vacuum pump and a vacuum release mechanism to remotely release the life preserver once the drone is positioned over the swimmer. A camera on the drone can be used to locate the swimmer, and a remote control operates the release mechanism so that the operation can be performed from a remote location (such as a life guard station, vessel, etc.).

Abstract: An arcade game with that allows a player to control the game using a video feedback plus a tactile response is provided. A player must use the video feed for controlling the game, and the video feed can be altered to vary the difficulty of the game. The tactile response can also be controlled to provide a more realistic game experience to the player.

Abstract: An amusement game such as those found in arcades is disclosed having a housing, player controls, and a playing area surrounded by a transparent housing, the game comprising a vertical array of targets; an actuator movable in X, Y, and Z directions, player controls for moving the actuator in the X and Y directions, means for extending the actuator in the Z direction toward the vertical array of targets, a suction device for adhering the actuator to a target. The actuator moves toward the targets and can remove a target from its position if properly aligned by the player.

Abstract: A dispensing apparatus for dispensing items from a plurality of dispensers in one or more vending or amusement machines includes a plurality of elongate support members each having a rotatably mounted support plate at one end. Items are releasably supported by the support member so that one item is dispensed from the free end of the support member for each complete revolution. A single drive gear motor operates all of the support members and is connected to each support plate via a series of driven rollers or pulleys and a continuous belt or chain extending around the rollers. Each driven roller is drivably connected to a respective one of the support plates via a clutch. A releasable stop mechanism is associated with each support plate for releasably engaging the plate to prevent it from rotating. An actuator controls release of the respective support plates for rotation through one revolution, and one or more selected plates may be released at any one time.

Abstract: An amusement apparatus in which a player controls positioning of a pick-up device such as a mechanical grabber having moveable claws or pincers over a floor area on which prize objects are placed. The floor area is rotatable and the pick up device is attached to an overhead transport mechanism for moving it back and forth across a portion of the floor area, so that the pick up device can cover the entire prize area during one complete revolution of the floor. Several pick up devices may be provided at spaced positions around the floor area so that more than one player may use the device at the same time. The floor area is preferably circular, and rotates around its center axis with the pick up devices travelling back and forth between the center and outer edge of the floor area. The entire device is enclosed in an outer housing which is at least partially transparent.

Abstract: The present invention is a prize distribution system for an amusement game that can deliver to a player a brick of tickets in bulk form, or deliver a prize that is shaped like a brick, in a reliable manner that is theft resistant and requires no human interaction to participate. The invention uses a conveyor belt and motor to extract a prize from a stacked or secured configuration, and move the prize to a bin accessible to the player. In a preferred embodiment, the system includes a second motor and door system that opens and closes access to the bin, preventing a would-be thief from reaching through the bin to the prize stack in an attempt to remove a prize.

Abstract: A crane game with a vacuum head adapted to pick up objects with a smooth extraction surface is disclosed wherein the objects, or targets, include perturbations such as bead shaped projections or dimples that present a more challenging target by reducing the available extraction surface. Disk shaped, spherical, or other shaped targets include one or more perturbations that may prevent a seal from being formed with the suction head, denying extraction of the target by the vacuum head.
