    Abstract: An apparatus and system for a thrust-absorbing horizontal surface pump assembly is described. A thrust-absorbing horizontal surface pump system includes an intake chamber including a stationary thrust bearing paired with a rotatable thrust runner to form a thrust bearing set, wherein a first face of the stationary thrust bearing positioned towards the rotatable thrust runner is at least partially diamond-coated, and wherein a second face of the rotatable thrust runner positioned towards the stationary thrust bearing is at least partially diamond-coated, a fluid entrance that receives a fluid into the intake chamber, and a pump inlet that receives the fluid into the multi-stage centrifugal pump, wherein the thrust bearing set is arranged around the intake shaft such that during operation of the electric motor the thrust bearing is in a pathway of the fluid as the fluid flows between the fluid entrance and the pump inlet.

    Abstract: A variable frequency drive (VFD) cabinet ventilation system, apparatus and method is described. A VFD cabinet includes an internal air circulating closed circuit that extends through an inside of an air-to-air heat exchanger and an external air open circuit extending around an outside of the heat exchanger. The circulating internal air closed circuit extends through a chamber closed to ingress of external air, the chamber including electrical components of a VFD system. The external air open circuit makes a turn from downwards to upwards before flowing through a VFD chassis including a drive of the VFD system. A VFD cabinet ventilation method includes turning a flow of cabinet ventilation air from downwards to upwards to separate dirt from the ventilation air, passing the separated ventilation air through a VFD chassis, and circulating internal cabinet air through a closed circuit including an inside of a heat exchanger.

    Abstract: A torque transfer system for centrifugal pumps. A torque transfer system for a centrifugal pump includes a bearing sleeve above an impeller, the bearing sleeve and a hub of the impeller surrounding a rotatable shaft and coupled to the rotatable shaft by a key, the bearing sleeve having a stepped bottom edge, a top edge of the hub stepped inversely to the bottom edge of the bearing sleeve such that the top edge and the bottom edge interlock with a clearance between longitudinally extending portions of the interlocked edges, wherein upon reduction of torque transference between the key and the sleeve, the clearance closes such that the longitudinally extending portion of the stepped top edge contacts the longitudinally extending portion of the stepped bottom edge thereby maintaining rotation of the sleeve with the rotatable shaft. A centrifugal pump includes modules with a series of stepped, interlocked impellers.

    Abstract: A bushing anti-rotation system and apparatus. A bushing anti-rotation system includes an impeller and diffuser stage including a rotatable shaft extending longitudinally through the stage, the diffuser having an inner diameter defining a bore, a bearing set including a bushing pressed into the inner diameter, and a rotatable sleeve inward of the bushing, and means for wedging the bushing against the inner diameter of the diffuser, wherein the means for wedging provides a mechanical lock against rotation of the bushing.
