Abstract: A static mixer and method of making the same which mixer is capable of simultaneously mixing together a plurality of fluids, usually at least two liquids, in a stream which may be segmented by a fluid which may be a gas, comprising one or more elements forming an elongated fluid passageway for conveying the fluids while at least two liquids are intermixed. A helix is formed within the passageway to impart a rotational movement to the stream so that the rotational velocity at the liquid-wall interface is greater than that at the center of the stream, providing an efficient mixing action, without breaking up the gas segments.
