Abstract: A high voltage electrical component for an electric vehicle is provided. The component comprises a polymer composition that includes a polymer matrix containing a liquid crystalline polymer. The composition exhibits a comparative tracking index of about 125 volts or more as determined in accordance with IEC 60112:2003 at a thickness of 3 millimeters. Further, the composition defines an orange surface that is characterized by a L* value of from about 55 to about 75, an a* value of from about 18 to about 38, and a b* value of from about 22 to about 42, wherein L*, a*, and b* are calculated using CIELAB units according to ASTM D2244-16.

Abstract: A busbar that comprises an insulative portion that covers at least a portion of an electrically conductive body is provided. The insulative portion comprises a polymer composition that includes a polymer matrix containing a liquid crystalline polymer. The composition exhibits a comparative tracking index of about 125 volts or more as determined in accordance with IEC 60112:2003 at a thickness of 3 millimeters, and a deflection temperature under load of about 200° C. or more as determined according to ISO 75-2:2013 at a specified load of 1.8 MPa.
