    Abstract: Provided are resin compositions comprising the following (A), (B), (C), which is at least one member selected from (C.sub.1) through (C.sub.3) and (D):(A): a polyolefin,(B): a saponified product of an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer having an ethylene content of 20 to 65 mol % and a saponification degree of vinyl acetate component of at least 96%,(C): (C.sub.1): at least one inorganic substance selected from titanium oxide, talc, calcium carbonate, mica and absorptive inorganic materials,(C.sub.2): at least one compound selected from the group consisting of metal salts of higher fatty acid having 8 to 22 carbon atoms, metal salts of ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid and hydrotalcite, and(C.sub.3): a polyolefin modified with an unsaturated carboxylic acid or derivatives thereof;and,(D): a saponified product of an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer having an ethylene content of 68 to 98 mol % and a saponification degree of vinyl acetate component of at least 20%.The compositions of the present invention have excellent compatibility within themselves and significantly solve the problems, upon molding, of molding instability such as charred resin on screw, generation of lip stain, pressure increase in extruder, abnormal flow and generation of (turbulence) wavy pattern on the surface of molded articles.

    Abstract: A composition comprising a matrix of an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer having dispersed therein a granular drying agent in a particulate state, wherein the volume-area average diameter of the grains of drying agent having a long dia meter of not less than 10.mu. is not greater than 30.mu.. A multi-layer structure comprising layers of such a composition. The gas barrier property of the multi-layer structure is not substantially reduced after a retort treatment and thus, the multi-layer structure is extremely useful for packaging of food, especially packaging of retorted food.

    Abstract: Provided are resin compositions comprising:(A) 60 to 95% by weight of an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer having an ethylene content of 20 to 65 mol % and a saponification degree of vinyl acetate component of at least 96%,(B) 4.5 to 39.5% by weight of an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer having an ethylene content of 60 to 98 mol %, and(C) at least 0.5% by weight of a saponified product of an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer having an ethylene content of 68 to 98 mol % and a saponification degree of vinyl acetate component of at least 20%, the incorporation ratio of (C) based on the sum of (B) and(C) being not more than 38% by weight.The resin compositions of the present invention have markedly improved flexibility without deteriorating transparency and gas barrier properties as compared with conventional saponified products of ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymers. Multilayered structures comprising at least one layer of the composition have excellent resistance to falling shock, flexural resistance, prevention of air-back, skin-pack adaptability and shrink-packaging capability and can hence of great value for packaging various goods.

    Abstract: This invention provides a gas-barrier multilayered packaging material which comprises an outer layer of a composition comprising 55-97 wt % of an EVCOH and 45-3 wt % of a resin selected from the group consisting of polyamide, polyolefin, polyester and polycarbonate and an inner layer comprising a hydrophobic thermoplastic resin having a low moisture permeability; and further provides a gas-barrier multilayered packaging material which comprises an outer layer comprising a resin layer having a moisture permeability (measured at 40.degree. C., 90% RH) of at least 40 g/m.sup.2 day, an intermediate layer of a composition comprising 55 to 97% by weight of an EVOH and 45 to 3% by weight of a resin selected from the group consisting of polyamide, polyolefin, polyester and polycarbonate and an inner layer comprising a hydrophobic thermoplastic resin layer having a moisture permeability lower than that of the outer layer. Both of them are useful as packaging materials to be used for boil sterilization or retort sterilization.
