Abstract: Certain hydrazodicarboxylates, namely polymers or oligomers made by reacting hydrazine with polyfunctional haloformates, especially difunctional haloformates, cyclized forms of said oligomers and condensation products of hydrocarbyl carbazates with polyfunctional, especially difunctional, haloformates are useful as chemical blowing agents for expanding gas-expandable polymeric materials. These compounds are novel.
