Abstract:
A method of making a sacrificial coating composition is disclosed. The method comprises emulsifying an oil with surfactant and water to form an oil-in-water emulsion; and combining ingredients comprising (i) at least one polymer, (ii) at least one hygroscopic material, (iii) the oil-in water emulsion and (iv) water to produce the sacrificial coating composition. The at least one polymer is selected from the group consisting of a hydrophilic polymer, a latex comprising polymer particles dispersed in a continuous liquid phase, or mixtures thereof.

Abstract:
Provided is a method of patterning a substrate. The method includes depositing, in a first predetermined pattern, hydrophobic material on a first surface of a hydrophilic substrate. The method includes permeating the hydrophobic material through a thickness of the substrate. The method includes exposing the hydrophobic material to UV-light and sufficiently solidifying the permeated hydrophobic material. The sufficiently solidified hydrophobic material forms a liquid-impervious barrier that separates the substrate into at least one discrete region.

Abstract:
A transfix blanket for a printer may include a substrate layer. A conformance layer may be disposed at least partially on the substrate layer. An adhesive layer may be disposed at least partially on the conformance layer. At least one of the conformance layer and the adhesive layer may include a plurality of infrared reflective pigments. A topcoat layer may be disposed at least partially on the adhesive layer. The topcoat may include an infrared absorptive material.
Abstract:
A coating composition for an image transfer member in an aqueous ink imaging system is disclosed. The coating composition comprises: at least one polymer selected from the group consisting of i) polyvinyl alcohol and ii) a copolymer of vinyl alcohol and alkene monomers; at least one hygroscopic material; and at least one surfactant. An indirect printing apparatus and an indirect printing process employing the coating composition are also disclosed.
Abstract:
An embodiment of the present disclosure is directed to a wet sacrificial coating composition. The coating composition is made from ingredients including: a waxy starch; at least one cross-linker; at least one hygroscopic material; at least one surfactant; and a liquid carrier.
Abstract:
Provided is composition for a liquid coating. The composition may include a silanol terminated copolymer, at least one cross-linker, and a catalyst. The silanol terminated copolymer may include from about 10 to about 25 mol % of a diphenylsiloxane repeat unit and greater than about 50 mol % of a dialkylsiloxane repeat unit. The at least one cross-linker may be one or more selected from: tetraethoxysilane (TEOS), a trialkoxysilane terminated polydialkylsiloxane and/or one or more of a trialkoxysilyl terminated polymer.
