Abstract:
The invention relates to a directionless and colorless reconfigurable optical add/drop multiplexer (ROADM) for a number of clients comprising: an add/drop interface for optical signals of at least one optical network, wherein each received optical signal is split by at least one optical splitter into optical signals which are applied to a downstream cross connector distributing the split optical signals to wavelength selectors of different clients, wherein each wavelength selector performs a wavelength selection of at least one wavelength from the distributed optical signals, wherein an optical signal having a selected wavelength (λ) is applied to a client transponder of a client.
Abstract:
A control system includes first and second clutches of a transmission and a control module. Each of the first and second clutches includes an on state and an off state. The control module cycles the first clutch between the on state and the off state using a stepped command signal while the second clutch is maintained in the on state. The control module monitors an output parameter of the transmission that is based on the stepped command signal. The control module controls the transmission based on the output parameter.

An injection mold for insert molding includes a stationary plate, a first core and a second core. The stationary plate defines an upper surface and a side surface perpendicular to the upper surface. The upper surface has a slot at a middle portion thereof. The slot extends perpendicular to the side surface and reaches the side surface. The first core is received in the slot of the stationary plate and defines a holding element on a top surface thereof for securing an insert. The second core is closed with the first core to form a mold cavity, with the insert extending into the mold cavity. The first core is capable of being taken off from the slot of the stationary plate when the first core and the second core are detached from each other.
Abstract:
A linear lighting system has a spinal structure or spine 11 and one or more elongated optical shade assemblies 13 attachable to the spinal wherein the spinal structure can be installed at a job site separately from the shade assemblies. The optical shade assemblies contain all of the more delicate optical components of the lighting system, such as a reflector 19 and diffuser cover 21, and can be shipped and handled separately from the more durable spinal structure of the lighting system, which includes system components such as lamp sockets 15, ballasts 18, and socket and ballast wiring. The spine includes multi-function bracket structures 35, 36, 80 which support the lamp sockets and which allow for the suspension, hanging or mounting of the spine and the joining of spine sections together in a continuous run.
Abstract:
A power cord integrated hanger system for suspending a lighting fixture has a flexible load bearing inner suspension part and a flexible non-load bearing outer conductor part that acts as the “power cord” for the suspended lighting fixture. The flexible outer conductor part has an internal passageway for the inner suspension part. An outer cover of the outer conductor part holds electrical conductors in place in the outer conductor part and preferably conceals the conductors from view. The outer cover of the conductor part can be provided with different aesthetic qualities to enhance the visual appearance of the hanger system.
Abstract:
A process for manufacturing a compound of Formula (I) which has cis-conformation and wherein R1 represents a 1-phenyl-C1-C4alkyl or 1-naphthyl-C1-C4alkyl group, wherein the phenyl or naphthyl moiety of R1 is unsubstituted or substituted with one or more C1-C4alkoxy groups and the carbon atoms in 2-, 3-, and/or 4-position of the alkyl part of R1 are, independently of the phenyl or naphthyl moiety of R1 and independently of one another, unsubstituted or substituted with C1-C4alkoxy and/or silyloxy or, preferably, are unsubstituted or substituted with one C1-C4alkoxy group and/or silyloxy group per carbon atom, and R2 represents a C1-C6alkyl group or an unsubstituted or substituted benzyl group, in which process a compound of Formula (II) wherein R3 represents a C1-C6alkyl group or an unsubstituted or substituted benzyl group, and R1 and R2 have the same meaning as in formula (I); is treated with a base at a temperature of 0° C. or less in a liquid aprotic solvent for a time period sufficient to obtain the compound of formula (I).
