Abstract: Provided is a binder composition that is capable of forming an electrode that can suppress an increase of internal resistance after cycling of an electrochemical device. The binder composition contains a polymer X, N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone, and a nitrogen compound other than N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone. The polymer X includes a nitrile group-containing monomer unit and includes either or both of an aliphatic conjugated diene monomer unit and an alkylene structural unit. The nitrogen compound has a molecular weight of 1,000 or less. An HSP distance (RA) between the nitrogen compound and the polymer X is 10.0 MPa1/2 or less.

Abstract: Provided is a binder composition for a non-aqueous secondary battery positive electrode that is capable of producing a conductive material dispersion liquid having excellent conductive material dispersibility. The binder composition for a non-aqueous secondary battery positive electrode contains a polymer. This polymer includes a nitrile group-containing monomer unit, an alkylene structural unit, and a hydrophilic group-containing monomer unit. The proportional content of the hydrophilic group-containing monomer unit in the polymer is 6.5 mass % or more. An 8 mass % aqueous solution of the polymer has a haze of 70% or less at a pH of 8.0 or higher.
