Abstract: Provided is a binder composition for a non-aqueous secondary battery that enables formation of a functional layer and an electrode mixed material layer having high transition metal capturing ability. The binder composition for a non-aqueous secondary battery contains a water-soluble polymer and water. The water-soluble polymer includes a sulfonate group-containing monomer unit in a proportion of at least 10 mass % and not more than 50 mass % and a (meth)acrylonitrile monomer unit in a proportion of 20 mass % or more.

Abstract: A binder composition for a porous membrane of a secondary battery, including a polycarboxylic acid and water, wherein the polycarboxylic acid includes a carboxylic acid group-containing monomer unit in an amount of 20% by weight or more and 50% by weight or less, the polycarboxylic acid is water-insoluble at a pH of 6.5 or less and water-soluble at a pH of 8 or more, and the binder composition for a porous membrane of a secondary battery has a pH of 6.5 or less; and a slurry for a porous membrane of a secondary battery using the binder composition, a porous membrane for a secondary battery, and a secondary battery.
