    Abstract: A system for capturing, organizing, and storing handwritten notes includes a plurality of boundary markers. The boundary markers are configured to be positioned on a writing surface. The system also includes a tangible non-transitory computer readable medium encoded with instructions which, when run on a camera-equipped computing device, causes the camera-equipped computing device to execute processes. The processes include capturing an image of the writing surface with the markers thereon. The processes also include detecting the boundary markers in the captured image. Additionally, the processes include identifying a virtual boundary in the captured image based on the positions of the boundary markers. The processes then unwarp a portion of the captured image within the virtual boundary to produce an unwarped image.

    Abstract: An apparatus for a mobile floor standing structure with a wheeled base, attached to a dry-erase board is described. The dry erase board can be secured to the stand at a vertical orientation to give rise to a vertically standing writable dry-erase board. Alternatively, the dry-erase board being pivotably oriented form a vertical position to a horizontal position to yield into a writable dry erase board in a table configuration. The wheeled base adds ease in maneuverability and portability of the apparatus.

    Abstract: Conventional whiteboards or chalkboards on which writing is effected using Dry-Erase or chalk markers are enabled for digital conversion of the writing into the digital domain. An indoor positioning subsystem determines the absolute position of a marker with a dry-erase or another conventional writing tip within a local coordinate system to track the location of the marker on the board. Ultra wide band (UWB) is an example technology that may be used for this purpose. An inertial sensor in the marker captures sensor data generated by handwriting by sensing the movement of the marker, essentially tracking the relative positioning and motion of the handwriting. The absolute position and relative positions are then processed to generate digital handwriting which may be refined using deep learning subsystem(s) for handwriting recognition and classification for the data captured by the inertial sensor to determine the most appropriate character or shape of the writing.

    Abstract: Systems have a frame, and a substrate base sheet held by the frame. Each system has a media sheet and a substantially transparent erasable sheet held by the frame, with the media sheet being between the substrate sheet and the erasable sheet. The media sheet and the substantially transparent erasable sheet have substantially the same peripheral shape. The erasable sheet is positioned directly over the media sheet and supported by the frame at locations substantially the same as where the frame supports the media sheet. The media sheet may be a durable, long-lasting sheet. One of the media sheet and erasable sheet may have a lifting tab extending away from a peripheral edge thereof, some embodiments having a through-hole.

    Abstract: Laser printable, dry-erase substrates, along with their methods of formation and use, are provided. The laser printable, dry-erase substrate can include a base sheet defining a surface and a dry-erase coating on the surface of the base sheet. The dry-erase coating comprises a film-forming polymeric material (e.g., a polyacryl, a polymethacryl, a polyurethane-polyacryl mixture, a polyurethane-polymethacryl mixture, an urethane-acryl copolymer, or a mixture thereof) and a wetting agent (e.g., a nonionic surfactant that has a polyethylene oxide chain and an aromatic hydrocarbon lipophilic or hydrophobic group). The film-forming polymeric material melts and flows at a laser printing temperature so as to bond to toner ink.
