Abstract: An apparatus for producing an assembly of filamentary elements that are wound together in a helix includes a twisting device, a preforming device, and an assembling device. The twisting device is structured to twist at least first and second filamentary elements individually, such that each filamentary element is twisted separately from another filamentary element, to produce at least first and second twisted filamentary elements. The preforming device, which is arranged downstream of the twisting device, is structured to preform each of the twisted filamentary elements individually into separate preformed helixes, to produce at least first and second preformed helixes. The assembling device, which is arranged downstream of the preforming device, is structured to assemble the preformed helixes into an assembly.

Abstract: A method for manufacturing a flexible composite belt or cable, in the method, one or more parallel reinforced plastic profiles (11) are manufactured by pultrusion, continuous lamination or other continuous method. After surface treatment, the reinforced plastic profiles (11) are guided at a short distance from one another to coating treatment, which is carried out by extrusion or lamination or pultrusion. in the coating treatment, the reinforced plastic profiles are enveloped with a coating material (12) improving wear resistance which joins the reinforced plastic profiles (11) together and forms the coating of a finished belt or cable (10). Abstract: A method of manufacturing twisted wire products having a core and at least one outer layer of wires laid about the core consists in arranging the outer layer of wires in two groups during manufacture; one group, which is a substantial fraction of the number of wires in the outer layer is twisted and disposed in contact with the core so as to form as many peripheral gaps as there are remaining wires other than those in the fraction; the second group of wires which are the remaining wires are disposed in periphearl gaps so formed, and laid radially away from the core and in contact with adjacent wires of the first group; the outer layer so arranged in two groups is subjected to radially compressive deforming forces so as to wedge the conductors of the second group into the peripheral gaps so as to produce a tight and improved twisted wire product. Twisted wire products having a plurality of outer layers may be produced by forming single outer layers as said and building them in succession; alternatively, the product may be formed in a single stage of plastic deformation and subsequent thermal treatment as required. The core may be of circular, oval, oblong or triangular shape.

Abstract: A method of manufacturing an elevator includes installing a movable supporting platform and an elevator car in the elevator hoistway; taking the elevator car into use to serve passengers and/or to transport goods; removing the elevator car from use; changing the service range of the elevator car to reach higher up in the elevator hoistway by lifting the supporting platform higher up in the elevator hoistway; and taking the elevator car back into use. The elevator is reeved to include construction-time hoisting roping, which includes one or more ropes, the longitudinal power transmission capacity of which is based at least essentially on non-metallic fibers in the longitudinal direction of the rope. In the method, guide rails to be fixed with guide rail brackets can additionally be installed by the aid of an installation device. An elevator arrangement can be used to perform the method.
