Abstract:
A POS terminal includes an application unit that outputs a first command that performs a first operation on a medium to a first communication port, or a second command that performs a second operation different from the first operation to a second communication port; a receiving unit that receives the first command or second command output by the application unit, the first command or the second command being received by the first communication port or the second communication port; a command control unit that converts the first command to a third command, or converts the second command to a fourth command; and a communication unit that transmits the third command or fourth command output from the command control unit to a third communication port.
Abstract:
A relaying device may be configured to communicate with an image processing device and a server device via a network. The server device may store first type data which cannot be interpreted by the image processing device and second type data which can be interpreted by the image processing device. The relaying device may receive, from the image processing device, data selection instruction information identifying selection data. The relaying device may receive, from the server device, the selection data identified by the received data selection instruction information. The relaying device may execute conversion processing in a case that the received selection data is the first type data. The conversion processing may convert the selection data into converted data which can be interpreted by the image processing device. The relaying device may receive converted data reception information for causing the image processing device to receive the converted data.
Abstract:
An approach is provided wherein a banner page is detected and modified to insert information appropriate for a fax cover page. According to one embodiment, a user submits a document to the OS printing sub-system with a banner page option enabled. The banner page is processed by a fax cover filter which detects the banner page and modifies the banner page to include fax cover page information. The banner page and the document are then rendered to a specified document format by the printing subsystem and faxed, for example by a MFP.
Abstract:
A system for and method of efficient interoperability assessment based on automated Behavioral Profiling and Emulation of SIP or T.38 Fax-relay Enabled Devices, for example, for profiling and emulating VoIP Phones such as SIP Phones, or T.38 Fax-relay devices such as Internet Aware Fax Terminals. The method includes a Multi-step/Multi-technology Iterative Profiling Stage that allows creating a Behavioral Profile based on the analysis of a plurality of traffic samples. Also, the method presents an efficient process of Device Emulation of an actual device to be used in interoperability assessment, including a Standard State Machine parameterized by a set of characteristics stored in the Behavioral Profile. The Emulation method can be used to duplicate one or more device behaviors exhibited either by different firmware revisions, software upgrades or by different OEM product models.
Abstract:
An Internet facsimile gateway device that exchanges image information between a data terminal device and a facsimile device through a telecommunication network and the Internet by taking the steps of transmitting the image information included in an electronic mail message to the facsimile device when the Internet facsimile gateway device receives the electronic mail message requesting image-information transmission to the facsimile device, creating a delivery-confirmation mail message notifying a result of the image-information transmission after the image-information transmission by the Internet facsimile gateway device is completed if the electronic mail message requests the Internet facsimile gateway device to transmit the delivery-confirmation mail message to an original address of the electronic mail message, and transmitting the delivery-confirmation mail message to the original address of the electronic mail message.
Abstract:
A repeater having first and second communication terminals that receives signals at either of the terminals and transmits signals responsive to the received signals at the other of the terminals, comprising: a first signal processor that receives V.90 analogue data signals from the first terminal and generates bit streams responsive thereto that accurately reproduce the data in the analogue signals; a second signal processor; and a communication channel linking the first and second signal processors wherein the second signal processor receives the bit streams generated by the first signal processor via the communication channel and transmits V.90 PCM octets responsive thereto via the second terminal.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a gateway unit, a controlling method thereof and a communication system that realize a real-time network facsimile communication in a packet-PSTN network environment at a transmission speed set up between a facsimile apparatus and a partner terminal unit, wherein required network bandwidth corresponding to the transmission speed can be adjusted to be narrower than network bandwidth allocated by a gatekeeper unit.
Abstract:
The invention provides a communication interface that is configured to exchange digital data packets configured with a simplified header format with a PDA, and is further configured to exchange digital data configured with a conventional header format with a device such as a computer server communicating with a network, such as the Internet. When directed to exchange data between a PDA and a computer, the interface is capable of converting the header of a data packet from one header format to another header format. This allows seamless communication between the computer and the PDA.
Abstract:
A communication connecting device includes a terminal unit controller for temporarily storing data received from a sending terminal unit. A packetizer/depacketizer collectively codes the data sequentially read out in accordance with size information fed from a size information storage. The packetizer/depacketizer determines whether or not the data is control data and delivers, if the answer of the decision is positive, a notification control signal to a control data monitor. A UDPTL (facsimile User Datagram Protocol Transport Layer protocol) controller feeds a UDPTL packet input from the packetizer/depacketizer to the control data monitor in accordance with ITU-T (International Telecommunication Union-Telecommunication standardization sector) Recommendation T.38. The control data monitor repeatedly sends the UDPTL packet on the basis of the notification control signal.
Abstract:
A system is provided for use in a communication interface for communication between a wireless device and the communication interface to gather local and proximal information. The communication interface is configured to communicate with other devices communicating with a network and configured to facilitate data communication between the wireless device and other devices connected to the network to retrieve and otherwise consume information pertinent to a particular location. A wireless device may then receive a packet having an embedded information address and command from a wireless device that is enabled with a protocol to establish a communication link with an application server, establish a communication link with the application server, retrieve localized information from the application server according to the received embedded command and forward the location related data to the wireless device.
