Abstract:
Method of somatic cell count in milk from animals, and an apparatus therefore enabling individual somatic cell count for milk from each teat, i.e. udder quarter, by connecting a teatcup to a first teat, taking a sample of the total milk for the first teat when the flow of milk from the first teat exceeds a predefined value, connecting a the to at least one further teat, taking a sample of the total milk for said first and at least one further teat when the flow of milk from the first and further teats exceeds a predefined value, and calculating the estimated somatic cell count (SCC2, SCC3, SCC4) for the milk from the further teats.
Abstract:
A breech device for bolt-action firearms includes a breech body reciprocating in the receiver and rotatable into locking position. In its front part, the breech body has locking lugs located in three sectors, the locking lugs in at least two sectors being formed in a breech device equipped with a magazine loaded in parallel so that there are four guide surfaces to limit rotation between the receiver and the breech body, and the breech body has a recessed locking surface for the cartridge at its end. The locking surface of the cartridge has been extended downwardly to form a glide surface passing between the locking lugs so that the rear surface of the cartridge case slides on the glide surface and the locking surface into locking position as the cartridge is ejected from the magazine into the cartridge housing.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for the automated milking of dairy cattle employing live capture of the teats of a dairy cow without requiring identification of a particular dairy cow or the prior knowledge of the location of the individual teats. The live capture milking apparatus locates the individual teats of a dairy cow and attaches a teatcup to the teat without the need for human intervention. After the milking operation is completed, the live capture milking apparatus returns to a home position where cleaning and sanitization the milking equipment occurs.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a milking cup comprising a cup sleeve, a teat rubber inserted in the cup sleeve with a head piece and an intake socket connectable with a milk discharge conduit, and comprising an air inlet valve provided on the milking cup and connected with the interior space of the intake socket via a first conduit, which lets atmospheric air penetrate into the intake socket in response to a relief phase, during which a higher pressure causing a folding-in of the intake socket relative to the milking vacuum pending in the milk discharge conduit is generated in a clearance between the cup sleeve and the intake socket. The invention is characterized in that an opening toward the interior space of the teat rubber is provided in the head piece of the teat rubber, wherein the opening can controllably be supplied with atmospheric air in response to the relief phase.
Abstract:
A device for automatically milking an animal, which device is provided with a milking robot, a computer for controlling the operation of the device, a measuring device for performing measurements on milk obtained from an animal, at least two teat cups, and a common milk line for discharging milk coming from the at least two teat cups, each teat cup being connected via a teat cup line to the common milk line. The device is provided with a milk-determining element for determining the teat cup from which comes the milk present in the common milk line and for emitting a determination signal. The measuring device comprises a common sensor for performing measurements on milk obtained from an animal and for emitting a measurement signal. The common sensor is disposed in the common milk line. The computer is suitable for combining the measurement signal and the determination signal.
Abstract:
The invention provides a valve (100) comprising, a housing (61) having ant enclosed internal cavity (66), an aperture (68) formed in a wall of the housing providing communication with the enclosed internal cavity, a valve scat (72) surrounding the aperture, an expandable valve member (40) mounted within the housing the expandable valve member having a hollow interior surrounded by a side wall of the expandable valve member, the side wall and hollow interior extending through a portion of the internal cavity clear of the housing where it terminates in an end wall (50), and a port (67) communicating with the hollow interior, wherein the construction and mounting of the expandable valve member and housing re such that the internal cavity of the housing may be evacuated to provide a region of sub-atmospheric pressure around the expandable valve member whereby the application of air pressure greater than sub-atmospheric pressure through the port can act to expand the expandable valve member to bring the end wall (50) into sealing engagement with the valve seat (72), the expandable valve member resiliently contracting to move the end wall out of sealing engagement with the valve seat when air pressure in the internal cavity and hollow interior arc the same.
Abstract:
A milking parlor for presenting an animal to be milked rearwardly loads the animal into a milking stall through an ingress/egress gate and forwardly unloads the animal from the milking stall through the same ingress/egress gate to pass along a unique exit path to a released area.
Abstract:
A method for milking and after-treating an animal by using an automatic milking system comprising means for locating the teats of the animal, means for milking the animal and means for performing an after-treatment of the animal. The method comprises an additional step of locating at least one teat of the animal a second time, the additional step being performed prior to the step of performing an after-treatment operation.
Abstract:
The invention refers to a device for at least one milking stall (3) with a milking position (4) for an animal and with at least one milking equipment comprising a milking member arranged to be attached to said animal for milking thereof. The milking stall (3) is defined by at least one wall arrangement (5) and a floor (6), and extends between a fist end (7) and a second (8) end in such a way that when an animal is present in said milking stall (3) in said milking position, the front portion of said animal is adjacent said first end (7) and the back portion of said animal is adjacent said second end (8). The device comprises a cabinet-like structure (1), which has a longitudinal axis extending in a substantially vertical direction and which defines an inner space and which forms a building element of said milking stall (3). The invention also refers to a parlor (2) comprising a plurality of milking stalls (3) and the cabinet-like structure (1) forms a building element of said parlor (2).
Abstract:
A device for determining the spatial position of a teat 21 of an animal. Said device is provided with a first transmitter element 13 for emitting a first ray or beam of rays 27 in a first sub-area A of the space, and with a second transmitter element 14 differing from the first transmitter element 13 for emitting a second ray or beam of rays 27null in a second sub-area B of the space. The first sub-area A and the second sub-area B constitute together the space. A first receiver element 18 is arranged to receive a reflection of the first ray or beam of rays 27. A second receiver element 17 differing from the first receiver element is arranged to receive a reflection of the second ray or beam of rays 27null. A single mirror 3 rotatable about an axis of rotation 4 directs the ray or beam of rays emanating from each transmitter element in a relevant plane of the relevant sub-area of the space and/or directs a ray or beam of rays reflected from the relevant sub-area to the relevant receiver element. A means directs the ray or beam of rays emanating from each transmitter element in at least two spaced-apart relevant position determination surfaces of the relevant sub-area of the space.
