Abstract: Provided is a sensor platform that includes a substrate, a plurality of nanochannels disposed on the substrate, and a plurality of electrodes, a waveguide disposed on the substrate and an analysis chamber and a reference chamber disposed on the substrate. Each electrode extends substantially across a width of the plurality of nanochannels. At least one analysis optical resonator is disposed in the analysis chamber and is optically coupled to at least a portion of the waveguide. The at least one analysis optical resonator is in fluid communication with at Ieast one of the plurality of nanochannels. At least one reference optical resonator is disposed in the reference chamber and is optically coupled to at least a portion of the waveguide. The at least one reference optical resonator is in fluid communication with at least one other of the plurality of nanochannels.

Abstract: Embodiments relate to systems and methods for a frequency reconfigurable filtenna system. Implementations incorporate a reconfigurable band-pass filter within the feeding line of an antenna structure. The combination of the filter and the antenna may be referred to as a "filtenna". Implementations integrate both the band-pass filter and the antenna within the same substrate, permitting easier, more efficient and more compact integration in the transceiver hardware. Moreover, by using this configuration, the biasing of the switching elements are not present in the radiating plane of the antenna. This reduces the negative effect of the biasing lines on the antenna radiation performance, as we!! as provides a tunable filtered antenna radiation characteristic.

Abstract: The invention is directed to methods of screening immunogenic viral like particles and related immunogenic compositions and diagnostic techniques. In one embodiment, the invention provides methods of screening immunogenic viral like particles containing peptides corresponding to epitope regions of a wide variety of pathogens, including viruses, bacteria, parasites, and microbes. Non-infectious antigens and allergens of interest can also be screened as described herein. Immunization, therapeutic and diagnostic applications are also described for the compositions and methods according to the invention. In another embodiment, the invention provides novel methods of identifying a cryptic neutralizing epitope and related vaccines, constructs, and libraries. In some embodiments, these methods use high-throughput formats that are facilitated by in silica or in vitro steps.

Abstract: A novel peptide sequence that is a modified derivative of a neuron-specific tyrosine phosphatase is shown and described. Specifically, the novel peptide sequence is a modified derivative of striatal-enriched tyrosine phosphatase (STEP). The peptide sequence has been modified so as to be able to ameliorate and treat brain injury resulting from excessive glutamate release and / or oxidative stress. Examples of the types of brain injury which the presently disclosed peptide sequence is useful for treating includes acute brain injury resulting from stroke or traumatic brain injury and chronic disorders such as Huntington's chorea and schizophrenia. Furthermore, the presently described peptide sequence may further be useful in the treatment and amelioration of disorders associated with fear memory such as post-traumatic stress disorder.
