The present invention relates to a system and method for creating a Learning Object (LO) from a document. Particularly, the system (100) automatically generates the LO at sentence level, paragraph level and topic level in different modalities such as text, image, audio and video. The system (100) comprises a mapper (130), a ranker (140) and a Learning Object Builder (150). The method for creating a Learning Object from a document includes the steps of analysing and processing a document received from a user, matching a retrieved semantic structure by sentence index with a semantic structure from a multimedia repository (120) by the mapper (130), selecting and ranking projected graphs for each type of multimedia by the ranker (140) and producing the Sentence Learning Object, Paragraph Learning Object and Topic Learning Object by the Learning Object Builder (150).
Abstract:
The present invention provides a system (100) for discovering relations between texts in sentence of a machine-readable document. The system comprises a text preprocessor (101) and a relation discovery module (102). The text preprocessor (101) processes the documents to identify and extract entities, noun phrases and verb from therefrom. The relation discovery module (102) discovers the relation through a generic and semantic relation extraction for unstructured and structured texts to resolves intra-sentential and inter-sentential contexts.

Automated method for diagrammatic question generation and answer assessment. The method includes providing at least one topic and at least one question based on the topic (100), providing at least one range of a question difficulty level (QDL) (100) and a question mode, proportioning question difficulty type (QDT) based on the range of question difficulty level (101), selecting at least one question template based on the proportioned question difficulty type (QDT) and question difficulty level (QDL) (105), and generating a question based on the selected template (106). In one embodiment, the question mode includes questions in the form of diagrammatic multiple-choice type (DMCQ) and/or hand drawing diagrammatic type (HDDQ).
