A refrigeration system includes a supplemental heat exchanger operably disposed between a condenser and an evaporator. This supplemental heat exchanger is located in selective fluid communication with the air in the conditioned space, and can be toggled between an “invisible” mode in which the heat exchanger acts as a simple fluid conduit between the condenser and evaporator, and a “humidity reduction” mode in which the heat exchanger operates to transfer heat from hot refrigerant to the colder conditioned space. The alkalinity is reduced through the consumption of bicarbonate/carbonate by the autotrophic microorganisms. The effluent is then chemically treated with low-cost chemicals to provide Ca++ or Mg++ ions necessary to form a phosphate precipitate such as calcium phosphate or magnesium-ammonium-phosphate (MAP). The autotrophic microorganisms can be cultivated in ponds, lagoons, or photobioreactors. The pH of the culture is adjustable within a preferred range of 7.5 to 10.5 by adjusting the photobioreactor operation. The process includes an economical flotation separator for solid, liquid, gas separation and a means of concentrating ammonia nitrogen that may also be removed during the process of phosphate reclamation.

An ozone faucet switching structure includes a faucet body, a connecting member connected with the faucet body, an aerator mounted in the connecting member, and a control sleeve mounted on the connecting member. The faucet body has a water outlet pipe which is provided with a conduit which is externally connected with an ozone device. Thus, the control sleeve is movable on the connecting member to stop supply of the ozone when not in use to prevent the ozone from being mixed with the drinking water.

A non-chemical apparatus and method to lower the surface tension of a solution of liquid water and gaseous oxygen. An apparatus of the present invention comprises a source of chilled purified water, and gaseous oxygen fed into a positive displacement pump, followed by a cylinder reduced at one end by means of a convergent cone, a section of a smaller diameter cylinder attached to a divergent cone tapering up to another cylinder of a diameter the same or larger than the original cylinder. A coil of refrigeration tubing is wrapped around the smaller center cylinder to control the temperature of the inner cylinder surface.

A method of reducing a gaseous carbon oxide includes reacting a carbon oxide with a gaseous reducing agent in the presence of an intermetallic or carbide catalyst. The reaction proceeds under conditions adapted to produce solid carbon of various allotropes and morphologies, the selective formation of which can be controlled by means of controlling reaction gas composition and reaction conditions including temperature and pressure. A method for utilizing an intermetallic or carbide catalyst in a reactor includes placing the catalyst in a suitable reactor and flowing reaction gases comprising a carbon oxide with at least one gaseous reducing agent through the reactor where, in the presence of the catalyst, at least a portion of the carbon in the carbon oxide is converted to solid carbon and a tail gas mixture containing water vapor.

A method for making a carbon nanotube structure includes providing a substitute substrate, a growing substrate, and a carbon nanotube array, the carbon nanotube array grown on the growing substrate. A carbon nanotube structure can be drawn from the carbon nanotube array. The carbon nanotube structure includes carbon nanotube segments joined end-to-end. The carbon nanotube array is transferred from the growing substrate onto the substitute substrate. During transfer, structural integrity of the carbon nanotube array is maintained. The carbon nanotube structure is drawn from the carbon nanotube array transferred onto the substitute substrate.
