    Abstract: A medical instrument assembly is disclosed. The medical instrument has proximal and distal ends. A receiver coil being mounted proximate to a distal end of the medical instrument, the receiver coil being electrically connectable at a proximal end of the medical instrument. A deployable object being disposed and movable within the medical instrument. The deployable object bearing a high magnetic permeability material located proximate to the receiver coil. The high magnetic permeability material and the receiver coil combining to form an inductive element having an inductance that varies in a predetermined manner with the position of the deployable device relative to the receiver coil. A determination of the inductance being performed at the proximal end of the delivery catheter indicates the extension of the deployable device through the medical instrument.

    Abstract: A delivery device includes an outer sidewall and an inner sidewall extending therein. An outer surface of the inner sidewall defines a plurality of longitudinally extending grooves, each of which interlock with a corresponding inward protruding member of a plurality of longitudinally extending inward protruding members defined by an inner surface of the outer sidewall.     Abstract: An apparatus for subcutaneous lead guidance includes a flexible guide strap (130), a navigation catheter (150) and a tunneling tool (110). The guide strap includes an upper layer (134) having a plurality of retainer formations (136) and a substrate (132) attachable on a patient's skin extending between an incision (80) and a target site (84). The navigation catheter is coupled to the upper layer via the retainer formations from a first end (130a) to a second end (130b) of the guide strap. The navigation catheter includes a plurality of position sensors (140) for generating a subcutaneous navigation volume (170) between the incision and the target site when the navigation catheter is coupled to a navigation system (10). The tunneling tool has a distal portion (116) with a leading end (112) and at least one position sensor on the distal portion for viewing digital representation of the distal portion in relation to the navigation volume on a display (36) coupled to the navigation system.
