Abstract: A composition for relieving skin inflammation is provided to relieve skin irritation and inflammation by nitrogen oxide (NO) and retinoid using 12 kinds of natural medicinal plant extract. A cosmetic composition for relieving skin inflammation comprises one or more kinds selected among Alstonia scholaris, Gomphandra tonkinensis, Asarum petelotii, Pegia sarmentosa, Allium polyrrhizum, Asparagus gobicus Ivanova, Rheum uninerve Maxim, Corispermium mongolicum, Corispermum chinganicum, Salsola monoptera, Jurinea mongolica Maxim and Allium altaicum. The cosmetic composition relieves nitrogen oxide-mediated inflammation and irritiation or inflammation by retinoid. The retinoid is selected from a group of retinol, retinal and retinoic acid.
