A composition comprising an extract of soybean including isoflavone, carnitine, caffeine and arginine is provided to promote fat decomposition and fat oxidation and recover insulin sensitivity by increasing expression of adiponectin and a Glut4 gene, thereby showing anti-obese and anti-diabetic effect. A composition for improving obesity and diabetes comprises 0.0001-10 wt.% of isoflavone and 0.001-40 wt.% of L-carnitine as effective ingredients. The composition further comprises 0.0001-10 wt.% of caffeine and 0.001-40 wt.% of arginine. The composition is a health functional food or a medicine and is formulated into tablet, capsule, soft capsule, pill, granule, drink, diet bar, chocolate, caramel or confectionary.

A food composition containing dietary fiber and fructooligosaccharide for reducing abdominal obesity is provided to give satiety, to promotes the evacuation and to take the food composition without side effects for a long term. A food composition for reducing abdominal obesity contains inulin and fructooligosaccharide. The food composition for reducing abdominal obesity further contains glucomannan and red wine extracts. Particularly, the food composition for reducing abdominal obesity comprises inulin 3-25 g, the fructo-oligosaccharide 0.5-10 g, and the red wine extracts 0.01-2 g and glucomannan 0.1-5 g based on the dry weight.

A food composition including glucomannan, whey protein and isolated soybean protein as essential nutrients is provided to maximize a feeling of satiety during or after a meal, and thus can be effective to induce weight loss. A food composition contains 0.1 to 33% by weight of whey protein, 0.1 to 30% by weight of isolated soybean protein, 0.01 to 10% by weight of glucomannan and additionally vitamin or inorganic matter and 1 to 50% by weight of Chia seed. The weight ratio of glucomannan, whey protein and isolated soybean protein is 0.25 to 1.25:1.0 to 4.55:1.37 to 7.94. The food composition is formulated into dry powder, granule, capsule, tablet, pill, drink, oil-phase liquid, diet bar, chocolate, caramel, cereal and confectionery and has a caloric content of 50 to 500Kcal.

Provided is a novel fatty acid ester compound, which has an effect of inhibiting protein tyrosine phosphatase 1B, is derived from a naturally occurring plant, and is effective for treating diabetes and obesity. The fatty acid ester compound is selected from the group consisting of the compounds represented by formulae 1-6. The fatty acid ester compound is derived from Siegesbeckia orientalis through extraction, ethanol extraction and chromatography steps.
