    Abstract: A heat resistant isomerization catalyst, and a method for preparing exo-tetrahydrodi(methylcyclopentadiene) by using the catalyst are provided to reduce processing time and to simplify manufacturing equipment. A heat resistant isomerization catalyst comprises a heteropolyacid containing cesium, and is used in the isomerization of endo-tetrahydrodi(methylcyclopentadiene) into exo-tetrahydrodi(methylcyclopentadiene). A method comprises the steps of firstly hydrogenating methylcyclopentadiene dimer in the presence of a hydrogenation catalyst at 50-150 deg.C to prepare dihydrodi(methylcyclopentadiene); and secondly hydrogenating and isomerizing the dihydrodi(methylcyclopentadiene) in the presence of a hydrogenation catalyst and the heat resistant isomerization catalyst at 150-300 deg.C.
