Abstract: 본 발명은 데이터선에서 발생하는 데이터 신호 지연으로 인해 액정 표시 장치의 하단부로 갈수록 줄어드는 데이터 충전 시간을 보장하기 위한 것으로, 본 발명의 액정 표시 장치의 구동 장치는 복수의 계조 전압을 생성하는 계조 전압 생성부, 외부로부터의 구동 신호에 기초하여 게이트 신호를 상기 스위칭 소자에 출력하는 게이트 구동부, 상기 복수의 계조 전압 중 영상 데이터에 해당하는 계조 전압을 선택하여 데이터 전압으로서 상기 화소에 인가하는 데이터 구동부, 그리고 상기 영상 데이터를 상기 데이터 구동부에 제공하고, 상기 영상 데이터의 제어를 위한 제어 신호를 생성하여 상기 데이터 구동부로 출력하고, 상기 구동 신호를 상기 게이트 구동부로 출력하는 신호 제어부를 포함한다. 본 발명에서 상기 게이트 신호는 상기 게이트선의 순서에 따라 펄스 폭이 변한다. 바람직하게, 상기 구동 신호는 게이트 온 펄스의 출력 시기를 제어하는 게이트 클록 신호를 포함할 수 있고, 상기 첫 번째 게이트선 내지 n/2번째 게이트선에 상기 게이트 온 펄스를 전달하기 위한 게이트 클록 신호의 펄스 폭은 (n/2)+1번째 게이트선 내지 n번째 게이트선에 상기 게이트 온 펄스를 전달하기 위한 게이트 클록 신호의 펄스 폭보다 작은 것이 바람직하다. 또한 본 발명에서 게이트 신호의 파형의 게이트 클록 신호의 파형과 같다.

Abstract: An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) and an apparatus for driving the same are provided to compensate an insufficient data charge time that arises due to delay of a data signal. A gradation voltage generation part generates a plurality of gradation voltages. A gate driving part outputs a gate signal to a switching device on a basis of a driving signal from the outside. A data driving part selects one of the gradation voltages that corresponds to video data and then applies it as data voltage to a pixel. A signal control part supplies the video data to the data driving part and generates a control signal for controlling the video data. The signal control part outputs the control signal to the data driving part and applies the driving signal to the gate driving part. The gate signal has pulse width that varies according to an order of a gate line.
