Abstract: A backlight assembly and a display apparatus having the backlight assembly are provided to secure a space in which a reflecting member is stably supported through a stopper of a light source cover to prevent the light source unit from pressing the reflecting member. A backlight assembly(70) includes a light guide plate(74), at least one light source unit(76), a reflecting member(79), and a light source cover(78). The light guide plate includes at least one light-receiving face and a light-projecting face. The light source unit irradiates light to the light-receiving face. The reflecting member is located in close proximity to the face of the light guide plate, which is opposite to the light-projecting face. The light source cover has at least one opening and envelops the light source unit. The edge of one side of the light guide plate and the edge of one side of the reflecting member are inserted into the opening. The light source cover includes at least one stopper(72) protruded to come into contact with the light guide plate.
