Abstract: A backlight assembly and a display device having the same are provided to omit an additional component to fix an optical member by enabling a receiving member to receive and support an LED(Light-Emitting Diode) module and the optical member stably. A backlight assembly(70) comprises an LED module(80), an optical member(74), and a receiving member(75). The LED module, composed of a plurality of LEDs(82) and a PCB(81), generates light. The optical member is so arranged that the light generated from the LED module can be penetrated. The receiving member, which accepts and supports the LED module and the optical member, comprises a floor part(751), a sidewall part(752), and a support part(753). At the floor part, the LED module is placed. The sidewall part, extended from the edge of the floor part, is formed for the surface of the floor part. The support part, extended from the sidewall part, supports the optical member separately from the LED module.
