    Abstract: PURPOSE: A sepsis therapeutic agent acquired through a method for screening a sepsis therapeutic agent which targets NOD2 signal transduction pathway is provided to effective treat sepsis. CONSTITUTION: A method for screening a sepsis therapeutic agent comprises the steps of: providing RIP2 (RICK) protein; making RIP2 and a test material which is expected to suppress phosphorylation or kinase activity come in contact; and selecting a material which reduces phosphorylation or kinase activity of RIP2 compared with a control group. A pharmaceutical composition for treating sepsis contains an inhibitor which suppresses kinase activation or phosphorylation of RIP2.
