    Abstract: PURPOSE: An MG(Magnesium) inoculation method of CGI(Compacted Graphite Iron) cast iron, and cylinder block and head made using the method are provided to skip a second inoculation process by minimizing the deviation of Mg concentration by delaying initial response to the maximum in Mg inoculation. CONSTITUTION: An MG(Magnesium) inoculation method of CGI(Compacted Graphite Iron) cast iron is as follows. A barrier divides an inner space into first and second spaces(11,12) and is installed on the floor with a given height. Mg inoculants(16) and a cover(17) are stacked from the bottom to the top on the second space of a ladle(10). The molten metal of the CGI cast iron is tapped into the first space of the ladle. If the molten metal passes through the barrier and flows into the second space, then the cover first melts, and then the Mg inoculants react.
