The continuously variable transmission unit consists of a diameter-variable drive pulley(15) installed on the second transmission shaft, a diameter-variable driven pulley(17) installed on the third transmission shaft, and a belt(19) to connect the driven pulley with the drive pulley. The power transmitting unit transmits power to the third shaft by a synchronizing unit(23). A low-speed or high-speed selecting unit(25) and a backup control unit(27) are interposed in the third transmission shaft. The low-speed or high-speed selecting unit is selectively engaged with a high-speed output shaft(31) and a low-speed output shaft corresponding to a gear ratio.
