Abstract: PURPOSE: A method for forming a water jacket core for cylinder block casting is provided to prevent damage during forming due to thickness difference of the core by forming the insert core after interposing an insert core between each cylinders of a water jacket core forming a cooling water passage of an engine at outside the cylinders. CONSTITUTION: In a method for forming a water jacket core for cylinder block casting in which the water jacket core(1) for cylinder block casting assembled between a bore core and front, rear, left and right side cores is manufactured, the method comprises a first step(S1) of forming an insert core(9) for mounting the insert core(9) onto a tiller part of a water jacket core(1) corresponding to a space between each cylinders; a second step(S2) of installing the insert core(9) formed in the first step at a corresponding position between each cylinders of a whole water jacket core mold(11); and a third step(S3) of forming a water jacket core finished product by blowing after injecting mold sand into the water jacket core mold(11), wherein the insert core(9) is consisted of a sand tiller made of the mold sand.

Abstract: PURPOSE: An aluminum gravity casting system is provided to complement contractibility of aluminum using effects of atmospheric pressure and buoyance at the same time by pushing a heat resistant mainstay into the mold through a molten metal injection hole of a mold to a certain speed in the state that high temperature molten metal is injected into a product cavity. CONSTITUTION: The aluminum gravity casting system comprises a mold(5) in which a product cavity(1) is formed, and at the upper part of which a cylindrical molten metal injection hole(3) having a constant diameter as large as a certain depth is formed that is connected to the product cavity(1) so that high temperature molten metal is injected into the molten metal injection hole(3); a pressing means which is installed at one side of the molten metal injection hole(3) of the mold(5) to press molten metal that is injected into the mold through the molten metal injection hole(3); and a heating means which is formed at the other side of the molten metal injection hole(3) of the mold(5) to prevent early solidification of molten metal on the surroundings of the molten metal injection hole(3), wherein the pressing means comprises a pressing cylinder(7) which is arranged at one side of the molten metal injection hole(3) of the mold(5) so that the pressing cylinder(7) is mounted on the bottom of a workroom through a support frame(11); and a heat resistant piston(15) which is mounted on the front of a piston rod(13) of the pressing cylinder(7) to press molten metal through the molten metal injection hole(3) according to operation of the pressing cylinder(7), the heat resistant piston(15) is consisted of a ceramic disk having heat resistance of at least up to 800 deg.C, and the heating means consists a preheating burner(17) which is arranged at the other side of the molten metal injection hole(3) of the mold(5) so that the preheating burner(17) is mounted on the bottom of the workroom through a supporting stand(19).
