Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a covering agent, which is suitable for covering a printable material and with which defects such as too short reaction time and the like are solved by a method wherein a polymer made of the specified weight ratio of at least one kind of basic vinyl complex ring having the specified pKa , other copolymerizable monomer and crosslinker is employed. SOLUTION: Basic vinyl complex ring monomer, which has at least 3.8pKa and occupies 50-99.5% of the weight of total polymer, crosslinker, which occupies 0.5-10% of the weight of total monomer in the polymer, and comonomer, which occupies below 49.5% of the weight of total monomer mixture, are introduced at polymerization. The monomer as reaction mixture turns into polymer through, for example, precipitation polymerization in water or the like. The resultant polymer is isolated from aqueous dispersion liquid through filtration or with a centrifugal separator, washed with water, dried and, by adding binder, into liquid suspended in liquid medium so as to make the usage for covering a printable material, especially a paper, a cardboard and a plastic possible.
