Abstract:
The invention relates to a mixture, comprising (A) 10 to 90 wt. % of at least one C6 to C18 alkyl ester, or C5 to C8 cycloalkyl ester of 2-cyano-3,3-diphenylacrylic acid and (B) 90 to 10 wt. % of at least one further compound, with at least one UV absorption maximum in the range 280 to 450 nm and structurally different from compound (A). Said mixture is suitable for the protection of human skin from damaging UV radiation and for the protection of coloured textile materials from colour fading.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to glycin-N,N-carboxylic acid derivatives of formula (I) in which R is an organic radical comprising from 3 to 30 carbon atoms and containing at least one carbonyl group in its main chain; G and G represent independently C1-C3 alkylene; x and y are 1 or 2; and M is hydrogen, an alkaline metal, an alkaline-earth metal, ammonium or substituted ammonium. The compounds of formula (I) can be used as components having surfactant and complex-building properties in textile detergent formulations.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to novel modified polyaminoamides which are useful as dispersing agents for particulate inorganic solids, especially for inorganic pigments such as clay minerals. The new polyamides are also useful as graying inhibiting additives and detergency boosting additives in washing composition for laundry. In the modified polyaminoamide according to the invention at least a part of the amino nitrogens of the polymer carry both a hydrocarbon radical R which is selected from C1-C6-alkyl, C6-C16-aryl-C1-C4-alkyl and a group AIk-O-A, wherein A is hydrogen or an acidic group selected from B -PO(OH)2, B - S(O)2OH and B -COOH which may be present in the acidic or anionic form, wherein B is a single bond or C1-C6-alkanediyl, and B is C1-C6-alkanediyl and Alk is C2-C6-alkane-1,2-diyl, and a moiety of the formula (I) -(CH2-CR R -O-)PA ,wherein A is as defined above R is independently selected from hydrogen, C1-C12-alkyl, C2-C8-alkenyl, C6-C16-aryl or C6-Ct6-aryl-C1-C4-alkyl, R is independently selected from hydrogen or methyl and p is an integer provided that p has a number average of at least 10.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for the treatment of the surface of textile and non-textile materials, whereby reagent-modified, particulate polymers with a particle size of from 10 nm to 100 mu m are applied to the surface of the materials from an aqueous dispersion and the materials dried.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for producing compounds of general formula (IIb), wherein R represents C6-C30 alkyl or C6-C30 alkenyl which can also support up to 5 hydroxyl groups, formyl groups, C1-C4 alkoxy groups, phenoxy groups or C1-C4 alkoxycarbonyl groups as substituents and which can be interrupted by up to 5 non-adjacent oxygen atoms, or alkoxylate groupings of formula -(CH2)k-O-(A O)m-(A O)n - Y, wherein A and A represent 1,2 alkylene groups with 2 to 4 C-atoms, Y represents hydrogen, C1-C12 alkyl, phenyl, or C1-C4 alkoxycarbonyl, k represents the number 1, 2 or 3 and m and n each represent numbers from 0 to 50, the sum of m and n being at least 4, independently of each other. According to the inventive method, iminodiacetonitrile is reacted with aldehydes of general formula R-CHO and HCN or alkali cyanides. The method is carried out a) without using an organic solvent and in the presence of a Lewis or Bronsted acid, or b) with or without an organic solvent and in the presence of an emulsifier, or c) with or without an organic solvent and at a pressure of 1 to 40 bar.
