These elastomers are hydrolysis and microbe resistant and are thermoplastically processable.

Abstract: TWO-STACE PROCESS FOR THE PREPARATION OF THERMOPLASTIC POLYURETHANE ELASTOMERS In order to prepare thermoplastic polyurethane elastomers a) organic diisocyanate, b) polyhydroxyl compounds with molecular weights of 500 to 8,000, and c) chain extenders with molecular weights of 60 to 400 in the presence of d) catalysts, and optionally e) auxiliaries, and/or f) additives are reacted in two reaction stages at temperatures from 60.degree.C to 250.degree.C. In the first reaction stage the components are continuously mixed, the reaction mixture is applied to a carrier, preferably a conveyor band of thermoplastic material, and is allowed to react at the reaction temperature until solidified. Suhsequently, the solidified reaction mixture is melted in an extruder and the reaction is completed in the second reaction stage.

Abstract: In a process for preparing thermoplastic polyurethanes by reacting (a) isocyanates with (b) compounds reactive toward isocyanates and having a molecular weight of from 500 to 10,000 g/mol, in the presence or absence of (c) chain extenders having a molecular weight of less than 500 g/mol, (d) catalysts and/or (e) customary auxiliaries and additives, the component (b) used comprises at least one polyether polyalcohol (bl) comprising polyoxypropylene and polyoxyethylene units and having a molecular weight of from 500 to 10,000 g/mol, an unsaturation of less than 0.07 meq/g and a primary hydroxyl group content of from 80 to 100 %.

Abstract: EASILY DEMOLDABLE AND NON-BLOCKING THERMOPLASTIC POLYURETHANE ELASTOMERS, PROCESS FOR THEIR PREPARATION AND USE Easily demoldable and non-blocking thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer composition, obtained by melting: (A) from 50 parts to 99.5 parts by weight of a thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer with a urethane group content of from 10 50 percent by weight and a melt index of from 0.1 to 100 at 190.degree.C, with (B) from 0.5 part to 50 parts by weight of a thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer with a urethane group content of from 20 to 60 percent by weight and a melt index of 10 to 1000 at 190.degree.C, wherein the urethane group content of polyurethane elastomer (B) is always at least 10 percent by weight greater than that of (A) and the melt index of the polyurethane elastomer (B) is greater than or equal to that of (A) at the melt temperature. The elastomers are obtained by melting together the (A) and (B) polyurethane elastomers at temperatures from 140.degree.C to 250.degree.C, preferably in an extruder, with subsequent granulation.

Abstract: FLEXIBLE ELASTOMERIC THERMOPLASTIC POLYURETHANES, PROCESS FOR THEIR PREPARATION AND THEIR USE Soft, flexible elastic, thermoplastic polyurethanes contain as plasticizers phthalic acid bis(methoxyethyl ester), tricresyl phosphate, diphenylcresyl phosphate, and polyester polyurethanes having molecular weights from 4000 to 10,000 based on 1,4'-butanediol adipate and 4,4'diphenylmethane diisocyanate, generally in amounts from 1 to 50 weight percent. The plasticizers can be incorporated into the starting components used for preparing the polyurethane, into the reactable polyurethane mixture during preparation, or, preferably, into the resulting thermo plastic polyurethanes. The products are suitable for preparing sheets and molded parts, for example, pipes/tubing and profiles, and preferably for sealing profiles.

Abstract: Antistatic and/or electrically conductive thermoplastic polyurethanes contain carbon black whose surface area determined by the BET method is from 600 to 1200 m2/g, have a dibutylphtalate absorption number of 300 to 450 cm3/100 g/ a pour density of less than 250 kg/m3, and an average particle size less than 50 nm, are suitable for preparing films for flat heating elements, antistatic hoses, cables, and profiles. Incorporation of the carbon black into the thermoplastic polyurethane produced by the continuous sheet method takes place at temperatures under the primary melt peak for the crystalline rigid segments, measured by means of differential calorimetry, preferably in an extruder.
