Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a catalyst showing marked resistance against a sulfur- containing catalytic poison, an aresenic-containing catalytic poison and/or an antimony-containing catalytic poison and to remove alkylene, diene, monounsaturated hydrocarbon and/or oxygen from a flow contaminated with a sulfur-containing catalytic poison, an aresenic-containing catalytic poison and/or an antimony-containing catalytic poison by a simple method. SOLUTION: In the case of a catalyst wherein an active compsn. contains 0.05-1.0 wt.% of at least one group X metal or a metal compd. and 0.05-1.0 wt.% of at least one group XI metal or a metal compd. and a carrier of an SiO2-containing catalyst has a BET surface area of 2-400 m2/g, at least 20% of the total void vol. of this catalyst is formed of voids having a diameter exceeding 100 nm.

Abstract: Prodn. of acrolein (I) and/or acrylic acid (II) from C3H8 involves (A) gas phase partial dehydrogenation of C3H8 to C3H6, using heterogeneous catalyst; (B) using the prod. gas mixt. of C3H6 and unreacted C3H8 for charging an oxidn. reactor, in which C3H6 is converted to (I) and/or (II) by gas phase selective partial oxidn. with pure O2 using heterogeneous catalyst; and (C) separating the prod. from the prod. gas stream and recycling at least the unreacted C3H8 from stage (B) to stage (A). The novelty is that, before entering stage (B), constituents other than C3H8 and C3H6, at least H2 and steam, are removed from the prod. gas mixt. from stage (A). Pref. all constituents except C3H8 and C3H6 are removed after stage (A). Stage (B) is carried out in 2 consecutive reactors charged with multi-metal oxide catalysts, the first of Mo-Bi-Fe and the second of Mo-V. The prod. gas mixt. from the first oxidn. reactor is passed directly into the second; and the vol. ratio of organic cpd. for partial oxidn. (C3H6 or (II)) to O2 is 1:(1-3) in both reactors.

Abstract: CO2 and/or H2S are removed from gases which contain CO2 and/or H2S by means of an aqueous absorption liquid containing an alkanolamine, by a process wherein the said gas is treated, in an absorption stage, at from 40 DEG to 100 DEG C., with an aqueous absorption liquid containing from 20 to 70% by weight of methyldiethanolamine, the treated gas is taken off at the top of the absorption stage, the aqueous absorption liquid laden with CO2 and/or H2S is taken off at the bottom of this stage and is regenerated by being let down in two or more flash stages, and the final flash stage is operated under reduced pressure and the regenerated absorption liquid is recycled to the absorption stage.
