Abstract: This method of noise suppression at industrial plants involves cutting down the amount of contact between the material in question and the pipe way or the tank into which it is being transported. If the resulting contact noise is then damped down by damping the humming effect that happens during material e.g. grain, flowing down the pipe, the overall noise effect will be reduced. The pipes and receiving tank could be lined with elastic material to reduce the vibrations. Also, the pipe ways may incorporate angles of less than 90 deg , ideally 30 to 60 deg which would reduce vibrations too. Use/Advantage - The technique is used when granular material is fed down a pipe into containers. The advantage is that the method suppress noise emissions from the movement of loose material through pipes into containers and dampens any humming noises.

Abstract: The noise damping, flexible cover layer is pressed, or secured, onto the noise emitting pipeline etc. in fastening section, forming only a fraction of the covered surface. The compression etc. is carried out in individual punch-form, line and/or face sections. Pref. at least one more noise damping layer is deposited over the first applied one and secured in the same manner. The application is typically such that the two layers enclose one or more cavities. The pipeline sections may carry spacers also covered by noise damping layers.
