    Abstract: The invention relates to an antifreeze concentrate based on alkylene glycols , glycerin, and/or 1,3-propanediol. Said antifreeze concentrate contains a) 0. 05 to 10 percent by weight, preferably 0.5 to 5 percent by weight, relative to the total quantity of the concentrate of one or several polyethylene glycols and/or polypropylene glycols, and b) 0.01 to 10 percent by weight, preferabl y 0.05 to 10 percent by weight, relative to the total quantity of the concentrate of one or several carboxylic acid amides and/or sulfonic acid amides. Ready-to-use aqueous coolant compositions containing 30 to 70 percen t by weight, especially 40 to 60 percent by weight, of the concentrate can be obtained by diluting the inventive concentrates with water. Said coolant compositions are characterized by effective corrosion inhibition of magnesiu m and magnesium alloys.
