Abstract: An adhesive powder comprises the following components: (A) 5-98.9 wt.% redispersible polymer powder, prepared by radical copolymerisation of a mixture (M) comprising at least one ethylenic unsaturated monomer (M1) and at least one water soluble comonomer (M2) containing acid groups to form a polymer (P) having a Tg ≤ 20 degrees C, in the presence of at least one protective colloid and optional additives; (B) 1-94.9 wt.% at least one filler; (C) 0.1-10 wt.% at least one alkaline additive; (D) 0-10 wt.% at least one emulsifier; and (E) 0-30 wt.% further additives. Also claimed are (i) the use of these powders in aqueous adhesive formulations; and (ii) aqueous adhesive formulations prepared by mixing at least one of these powders with water.
