    Abstract: Unsaturated phenone derivatives of the general formula I I where R1 is C1-C4-alkyl, cyclopropyl, cyclopentyl, cyclohexyl, indanonyl, tetralonyl, phenyl or phenyl in which some or all of the hydrogen atoms have been replaced by a C1-C4-alkyl, C1-C4-alkoxy or C1-C4-thioalkyl group, or together with R2 or R6 forms an ethylene or propylene bridge, R2 to R6 are each hydrogen, C1-C4-alkyl, C1-C4-alkoxy or C1-C4-thioalkyl, and R3, R4 and R5 may each additionally be hydroxyl, R2 or R6 may additionally together with R1 form an ethylene or propylene bridge and one or more, but not more than three, of the radicals R2 to R6 are a group of the general formula II II or III III where K is C1-C10-alkylene which may contain 1 or 2 oxygen or sulfur atoms, Y is straight-chain or branched C1-C10-alkylene or is C1-C10-alkylene which is substituted by carboxyl, a carboxylate anion, an alkyl C1-C4-carboxylate group or hydroxyl, X is -NH- or -(N-Alkyl)- of 1 to 4 carbon atoms and Z is hydrogen or C1-C4-alkyl.

    Abstract: Polymers of olefinically unsaturated monomers and solutions of polymers of olefinically unsaturated monomers obtainable by polymerising the olefinically unsaturated monomers in the presence of free radical-forming initiators in solution under otherwise prespecified polymerisation conditions in a process in which a solvent and/or a liquid part of one or more reaction components of the polymerisation batch is initially introduced and heated to the polymerisation temperature, and, while maintaining or initiating the polymerisation, some or all of the monomers to be polymerised are fed continuously, via at least one feed, to the initially introduced part of the polymerisation batch (which is kept in motion), in such a manner that the exit opening of the at least one feed is above the surface of the initially introduced liquid part of the polymerisation batch.

    Abstract: A material for adhesion to solid surfaces contains (A) copolymer(s) of (a) 65-99.9 wt.% cpds. of formula CH2=CR -CO-OR (I). R = H or 1-4C alkyl; R = 1-18C alkyl; and/or vinyl esters of formula R -CO-O-CH=CH2 (II). R = 1-12C alkyl; (b) 0-6 wt.% alpha,beta-unsatd. 3-8C mono- and/or dicarboxylic acids and/or anhydrides of 3-8C diacids, (c) 0.1-4 wt.% (meth)acrylamido-glycolic acid and (d) 0-34.9 wt.% other unsatd. comonomers, pref. with 2-10 C atoms; (B) 0.05-5 wt.% (w.r.t. A) of a metal chelate, pref. a Zr chelate, and/or an opt. polymerised metal acid ester of formula RnT(OR )z (III) or (IV): T = di- to tetra-valent metal atom, pref. a Gp. II, III, IV or V metal, esp. pref. Ti; R = 1-8C alkyl or 6-16C aryl; R , R = 1-4C alkoxy or 1-18C aliphatic residue; R = as for R /R , or 1-4C alkylamino; n = 0 or a whole no.; z = at least 1, pref. at least 2; n + z = valency of T; (C) 10-900 wt.% (w.r.t. A) organic solvent or a mixt. thereof with water; and (D) opt. fillers, tackifying resins and/or stabilisers.
