Abstract:
In one embodiment, a device in a computer network monitors an alternating - current (AC) waveform of an electrical power source at the device, where the power source is part of a polyphase power source system. Once the device determines a particular phase of the polyphase power source system at the device, then the device joins a directed acyclic graph (DAG) (900) specific to the particular phase. In another embodiment, a device detects a time of a zero crossing of the AC waveform, and may then determine a particular phase of the polyphase power source system at the device based on the time of the zero crossing relative to a corresponding location within a frequency hopping superframe of the computer network. If too much power is being drawn from a particular phase, a demand- response request (DR 1000) may be sent on the phase - specific DAG.
Abstract:
A system and method for enabling an enhanced camp-on feature for a communications device. In an illustrative embodiment, the system includes a first mechanism for providing information pertaining to why a first user of a first communications device is unable to be contacted. A second mechanism enables a second user of a second communications device to make a camp-on selection based on the information. In a more specific embodiment, the information includes state information pertaining to the first communications device. The first means includes a fist module running on the first communications device. The first module is adapted to selectively relay the state information to an entity connected to the network. In the specific embodiment, the entity connected to the network includes Private Branch eXchange (PBX) system.
Abstract:
[56] In one embodiment, techniques for sending a conference invite that provides access to a list of participants in an existing conference are provided. A participant in a conference (104-1... 104-n) may decide to send an invite for the existing conference to the user (106). A request for inviting the user into the existing conference is received. A list of participants in the existing conference is determined. An invite message for the conference is then generated where the invite message includes information for the list of participants (104-1... 104-n). The invite message is then sent to the user (106) where the information for the list of participants is accessible to the user. For example, the list of participants may be displayed as caller ID information when the invite message is received by the user.
Abstract:
A method for automatic contact distribution includes receiving a contact for connection with an agent and distributing the contact to a first agent. The method includes automatically transferring the first agent from a ready state to a second state if the first agent does not answer the contact and detecting the presence of the first agent at a device associated with the first agent when the first agent is in the second state. The method may include transferring the first agent from the second state to the ready state after detecting the presence of the first agent at a device associated with the first agent. The second state may comprises a system initiated not ready (SINR) state.
Abstract:
A system and method for providing interactive communications includes receiving a communication from an originator destined for a persona. An identity of the persona is determined and one or more rules associated with the identity of the persona is determined. Presence information of the persona is obtained. The communication is sent to the persona in accordance with the determination of the identity of the persona, the one or more rules associated with the identity, and the presence information of the persona.
Abstract:
A method for managing conference resources includes receiving from an endpoint of a user a call to join a multipoint conference between a plurality of participants. Each participant communicates on the multipoint conference through a respective endpoint. The method includes determining that an insufficient amount of resources exist to allow the user to communicate on the multipoint conference and determining participation instructions to enable the user to communicate on the multipoint conference. The method also includes communicating the participation instructions. Location information associated with the user and location information associated with at least one of the plurality of participants may be used to determine the participation instructions to enable the user to communicate on the multipoint conference.
Abstract:
A node in a Low power and Lossy Network (LLN) is managed by monitoring a routing configuration on a node in a LLN. A triggering parameter that is used to invoke an address change on a child node is tracked and a threshold against which to compare the triggering parameter is accessed. The triggering parameter is compared to the threshold. Based on results of comparing the triggering parameter to the threshold, it is determined that an address change at the child node is appropriate. An address change of a child node appearing in the routing configuration is invoked based on the determination that an address change is appropriate.
Abstract:
In one embodiment, a method for enhanced call pickup includes accessing data (Fig. 1, 12a) indicating a current status of each of one or more users in a call pickup group (CPG) (Fig. 1, 16) with respect to an incoming phone call to a phone number corresponding to the CPG and communicating the data to one or more endpoints of one or more users in the CPG for display to one or more users in the CPG. A display of the data to a first user in the CPG facilitates the first user determining a current status of each of one or more second users in the CPG to facilitate a decision by the first user regarding whether to pick up the incoming phone call.
Abstract:
In one embodiment, a method includes electronically detecting a gesture of a user listening to a speaker via a communication device, and generating an audible and/or visual response that corresponds to the gesture. The audible and/or visual response is then communicated to the speaker. It is emphasized that this abstract is provided to comply with the rules requiring an abstract that will allow a searcher or other reader to quickly ascertain the subject matter of the technical disclosure.
Abstract:
A method for joining a virtual talk group includes facilitating communications of a virtual talk group. The virtual talk group includes a plurality of endpoints of different communication networks. The method also includes recording the communications of the plurality of endpoints of the virtual talk group. The method also includes adding a first endpoint to the virtual talk group and presenting the first endpoint with the recorded communications of the plurality of endpoints of the virtual talk group.
