The polyurea has been formed from a reaction of prepolymers of diphenylmethane 4,4'-diisocyanate with water. The polyurea foam of the invention can be used as a block foam or on-site foam for sound and/or heat insulation.

Abstract: The flame-resistant polycarbamide foam proposed contains calcium sulphate dihydrate as filler and ammonium phosphate as flame retardant. Its density is 25 to 250 kg/m and the number of open cells is greater than 80 % of the total. The polycarbamide is prepared by reacting prepolymers of diphenylmethane-4,4'-diisocyanate with water. The polycarbamide foam proposed can be used as block or in situ foam for acoustic and/or thermal insulation purposes.
