    Abstract: Circuit arrangement for monitoring and testing the operating conditions of an electro-erosion printer, having a print head which is provided with a number of print electrodes which can be selectively driven and actuated and can be displaced in relation to a print roller along a print line, and having a transport device for the guided and controlled movement of a recording carrier which is provided with a metallic or metal-containing coating and rests against the print roller, and having corresponding control circuits, in which case individual print electrodes and/or groups of print electrodes can be selectively connected to voltage-sensing and/or current-sensing circuits whose outputs are connected to comparison and evaluation circuits.

    Abstract: A switching device is able to route the arriving data packets according to data packet destination information to dedicated output ports. The switching arrangement has, for each set of input ports in the switching device, a set of output buffers with an output buffer for storing the payload of each data packet at an address in the output buffer which pertains to the same set of output buffers and belongs to the dedicated output ports. At least one of the output buffers has a set of output queues with an output queue for each output port for storing the address of each payload stored in the corresponding output buffer. An arbiter controls a readout order of the stored addresses. For the output buffers which pertain to the same set of output ports a multiplexer multiplexes according to the readout order the payloads from the output buffers to the output ports.

    Abstract: Method and arrangement for controlling the print current in metal paperprinters For record carriers with a greatly varying thickness of the metal layer, the burn out process is effected dynamically with respect to the current strength. During the starting phase up to the beginning of the actual arcing phase a relatively high current is applied which is sufficient to burn out even thick metal layers. As burning out proceeds, the print current, after a particular arc voltage has been reached, is reduced in a short time, maintaining the are and avoiding an undesirable burning out which would increase the print spot. For thinner metal layers the burn out current is correspondingly lower. The maximum burn out current is automatically adjusted to the thickness of the metal layer by measuring the arc voltage between electrode and metal surface of the record carrier. Suitable arrangements for controlling the burn out current are characterized by an (are) voltage-controlled current control circuit.
