    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To drive a digital display so that a noise (erroneous color display) being sensible for a user is reduced by providing a lookup table outputting a color signal having resolution matching with resolution of a digital display. SOLUTION: A lookup table 22 receives a color signal of writing operation to a color palette chip 2 as an input, and outputs a color signal of resolution matching with resolution of a digital display 21. Therefore, when a user wishes to add a color to a color palette chip 2, color selection (appear in lines 28-30) of a user is interrupted by the lookup table 22 and the color is converted to a different color, outputted to the color palette chip 2 through lines 25-27, and written there. The color palette chip 2 sends analog signals R, G, B to the digital display 21 through lines 5-7.

    Abstract: An isochronous output data stream format in which a single n bit word is transmitted as m multiple synchronous data streams where the length of the word transmitted in each data stream is n/m, the output data stream containing multiple isochronous different data rate data streams and one or more asynchronous data stream or streams. One bit from each of the m multiple synchronous data streams are combined and transmitted as a single signal at one of 2 analog levels. Data which is it desired to have a lower error rate than other data is transmitted in the synchronous data stream corresponding to the most significant bit associated with the 2 analog levels. Calibration data is transmitted in the synchronous data stream corresponding to the most significant bit associated with the 2 analog levels, the calibration data also being transmitted distributed over each of the m synchronous data streams.

    Abstract: Display apparatus comprises means for releasably connecting a display device (130;130') to the display apparatus. A data input (MON_ID) receives first data from a first releasable connection (ST) to the display device (130;130') and for receiving second data from a second releasable connection (ID) to the display device (130;130'). Switch means (320) selectively connects the data input (MON_ID) to either of the first releasable connection (ST) and the second releasable connection (ID). Display processor logic (310) is connected to the switch means (320) for generating one or more video signals to generate an image on the display device (130,130') as a function of the data directed to the data input (MON_ID) from the display device (130;130') by the switch means (320). Because the data input is switchable between connection to first data and second data from the display device, the display apparatus can identify and subsequently control both display devices which identify themselves by providing fixed reference levels on one or more lines of the output port and display devices which identify themselves by providing display identification data in a serial bit stream along a data communication channel. The same physical connector can be used to attach both kinds of display device to the video processor logic.
