Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain the exchange of digital information between a digital camera and another digital device by combining the 1st and 2nd images or displaying the 2nd image on a display means separately from the 1st image. SOLUTION: A 2nd image that is obtained in response to a command is combined with a 1st image or displayed on a display means separately from the 1st image. A digital camera 100 includes a photo snapping means, a storage means, a display 102, an input means and a controller 103. In order to secure the operation of a standard digital camera, the photo snapping means snaps the photo of an object 104. This photo is stored in the storage means as the 1st image and then shown on the display 102. The input means gives a command to the controller 103 to obtain the 2nd image via a communication link, stores the 2nd image in the storage means and shows the 2nd image on the display 102.
Abstract:
In one exemplary embodiment, a storage medium embodying a program of instructions for performing operations includes: storing raw information for primary properties of primary nodes within a primary network; in response to receiving a query, transforming the raw information into transformed information using keyes and based on the query, the query is in relation to a queried property, the transformed information is transformed data for the queried property, the transformed information represents a surrogate network having surrogate nodes corresponding to a portion of the primary nodes, the transformed information enables performance of operation without specific knowledge of and without revealing the entirety, the transformed information further enables one having the keyes to relate an output of the operation to the raw information; and generating a solution that relates a transformed query to the transformed information, the transformed query is a transformed representation of the query obtained by using the keyes.
Abstract:
The present invention concerns methods and apparatus for implementing context-dependent security for files and other computer system resources. In particular, methods and apparatus of the present invention implement context-based permissions that are used in context-dependent file security. In examples of the present invention, the context-based permissions may allow access to a file only when an attempt to access the file is made at a certain time of day, or from an authorized computer system, or from a computer having a certain application program installed. In general terms, the context-based permissions may specify time, location and application information that either alone or in combination may be used to restrict access to a file.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily select icons among plural icons which are placed in a computer display by integrating plural related icons in a master icon so that the integrated icons are concealed from a visual field. SOLUTION: First, whether the icons to be extinguished exist or not, namely, whether the icons to be integrated in the master icon exist or not is decided in an inquiry step 70 as 'do the icons to be extinguished exist?'. When one or more icons are decided to be integrated, the icons are extinguished in a step 72 and the master icons are graphically changed if necessary. Thus, easier and more prompt selection of specified icons is enabled by assisting a computer user to operate the icons by a manual work via a complicated task in the computer display.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To more promptly select specified icons by assisting a manual work via a complicated task by deciding what icons among plural icons is linked and drawing graphic display among the icons to be linked. SOLUTION: First, decision regarding what icons are linked is performed in a step 90 'to decide what icons are linked'. After that, decision to draw the graphic display among these icons is performed in a step 92 'to draw the graphic display between the icons'. Finally, decision whether new icons exist in the display or not is performed in an inquiry step 94 as 'is the new icons are displayed?' Thus, easy and prompt selection of the specified icons by assisting a computer user to operate the icons by the manual work via the complicated task.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system, a method, and a computer readable medium for identifying and rating a VU object in a virtual universe. SOLUTION: The method includes a step for displaying first and second VU objects in a region of the virtual universe on a display device at a first time for a first user, and further includes a step for identifying the second VU object which modifies a view of the first VU object. The method further includes a step for displaying the first VU object in the region of the virtual universe on the display device for the first user without displaying the second VU object on the basis of both first rating information associated with the second VU object and rating information of user view preference information. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing and displaying system which is embedded or house in a compact and portable article and projects data of high image quality or an image to be expressed to a separate screen or surface. SOLUTION: This processing device is a compact device including a device for expressing a text, image information and the data, incorporating the information processing and displaying system for projecting the video to the separate display surface, and incorporating a data display function. And also a method for using the compact information processing device incorporating a projector for projecting data to a separated surface is provided.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for providing dynamic switching in real time between a first service provider and a second service provider capable of providing a user with service on a communication network, respectively. SOLUTION: The method includes a step for establishing a switching standard for determining when provision of the service is switched between the first service provider and the second service provider; a step for maintaining state information related to use of the user of the service provided by the first service provider; a step for switching the provision of the service between first service and second service to be provided on the communication network based on satisfaction of the switching standard; and a step for transferring the state information to be maintained to switching time to the second service. Preferably, the dynamic switching is performed for the user in a substantially transparent form. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a method and device to facilitate selection of icon. CONSTITUTION: In order to facilitate selection of icon, an icon possibly in use next is moved automatically toward a cursor. Since an icon possibly in use or other icon selected by the user traces the cursor, the icons are always in existence near the cursor and any of them is easily selected. Furthermore, an icon capable of announcing (notifying) itself is provided when the cursor approaches the vicinity of the icon. In order to clear up a computer display device, icons whose availability is very small are made thin, or erased or is reduced for the sizes. In addition, icons with small use of frequency are linked with a visual graphic. Thus, the number of clutters (congestion) on a computer display screen is reduced.
