Abstract:
To provide a docking device which can improve stereo effect and tone quality, and which allows a portable computer to have the same functions as a desktop personal computer, speakers are built into respective projecting portions projecting from the two sides along the width of a support portion of a main body. This enables improvement of both stereo effect and tone quality from a conventional case where speakers are incorporated in the main body facing the back. Furthermore, it becomes possible to accommodate in the main body a full-size AT bus card which is difficult to accommodate conventionally.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve efficiency of undocking (ejection) operation of a notebook-sized PC in a docking station 10. SOLUTION: A solenoid type electromagnetic device 70 normally projects out a plunger 71 toward an ejection button 34 to hold the ejection button at a standard position. According as a user pushes the ejection button 34 into a sinking position from the standard position, undocking request instructions of a driver for a device during operation in the docking station are sent to an OS of the mounted notebook-sized PC. When notification of undocking completion arrives from the OS, the solenoid type electromagnetic device 70 changes over the plunger 71 to a non-projection position, so that the ejection button 34 is positioned in a projection position by energizing force of a spring. When the user pushes in the ejection button 34 positioned in the projection position, a motion direction-converting lever 74 swings, and an undocking member 27 and a locking hook 29 operate, so that the PC is undocked. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an easy-to-use notebook PC (personal computer). SOLUTION: The notebook PC 11 has a monitor part 15 and a main body part 13, and the monitor part 15 and the main body part 13 are connected by an arm part 20 via a first hinge part 22 and a second hinge part 23. In the notebook type PC 11, the tilt angle of the monitor part 15 is preserved, irrespective of the change of vertical position of the monitor part 15. Furthermore, because a turning force is exerted on the first hinge part 22 in the direction opposite to an arrow, the arm part 20 can be easily moved up from the body part 13 and the arm part 20 can be housed stably, when housed in the main body unit 13. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize an inverted F-shaped antenna assembly 10 provided with two inverted F-shaped antennas 15, 25 for transmitting and receiving radio waves of different frequencies. SOLUTION: A first and second inverted F-shaped antennas 15, 25 have ground parts 16, 26 and radio wave resonance parts 18, 28, etc., as their respective elements formed on each side of an insulative board 12 in the form of conductor films. Thus the inverted F-shaped antenna assembly 10 is provided with the first and second inverted F-shaped antennas 15, 25 on a first and second sides 11, 21.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an extension connector device that is easily connected. SOLUTION: A docking station 1 is provided with a floppy disk drive 6 and a CD-ROM drive 7 for notebook-size PC function extension. A pocket 5 is formed in a station main body 2, and a notebook-size PC is housed and held in the pocket 5. The station 1 is mounted vertically and the notebook-size PC is also held vertically. The station 1 is advantageous to space saving. The notebook-size PC can be docked from the front of the station 1, and docking work is therefore safe and easy.

PURPOSE: To provide a portable computer which can easily and also cheaply reduce an electromagnetic wave noise emitted by an electric potential difference that is generated between a portable computer and a docking device for this portable computer, and the docking device for the portable computer. CONSTITUTION: A notebook type personal computer has a conductive contact part material 304 that is connected with the reference electric potential part of the personal computer main body inside a pair of recess parts 302 that are formed on the bottom separated from a connector, and a docking device has a conductive retaining riece 135A which is connected with the reference electric potential part of the docking device main body and can frequent from an opening 130A inside the opening 130A which is formed at the position that corresponds to the recess parts 302 of the personal computer when the personal computer is completely mounted. As the contact part material 304 and the retaining riece 135A are mounted on the position which is separated from the connector, the electric potential difference between the personal computer and the docking device can be removed.
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To improve a stereo effect and a sound quality and to provide a portable computer with a function equal to a personal computer of a desk top type. CONSTITUTION: Speakers are respectively built in extension parts 16 and 18 extended to both sides in the direction of width from the supporting part 14 of a main body 20. Thereby both of the stereo effect and the sound quality are improved compared with an old case in which a speaker is built in the main body by facing backward. In addition, an AT bus card of a full size which is difficult to house before can be housed in the main body 20.
