Provided is an apparatus and method for describing three-dimensional image data, an apparatus and method for retrieving three-dimensional image data, and a computer-readable recording media for recording the programs. An object of the present invention is to provide an apparatus and method for describing three-dimensional image data, and a computer-readable recording-medium that implements the method. Another object of the present invention is to provide an apparatus and method for retrieving three-dimensional image data suitable for various application areas and display apparatuses, and a computer-readable recording-medium that implements the method. The image description apparatus includes: a descriptor database for storing descriptors describing characteristics of the three-dimensional image data; a descriptor adding unit for reading in a descriptor describing the characteristics of the three-dimensional image data and adding it to the three-dimensional image data; and a registration unit for registering the three-dimensional image data with the descriptor in a three-dimensional image data database.

Provided is a digital multimedia broadcasting (DMB) system that can provide a multimedia data broadcasting service having an excellent reception quality, a method thereof, and a computer-readable recording medium for recording a program that implements the method. The DMB system includes an encoding unit for encoding an inputted audio/video signal; a synchronizing unit for synchronizing media stream, additional data, interactive service objectifying data that are outputted from the encoding unit; a multiplexing unit for multiplexing the media stream outputted from the synchronizing unit; an error correction encoding unit for performing additional error correction encoding on the media stream outputted from the multiplexing unit; an interleaving unit for removing temporal correlation between adjacent byte units within a data stream outputted from the error correction encoding unit; and a transmitting unit for transmitting a DMB media stream outputted from the interleaving unit to the conventional DAB system and other digital broadcasting systems.

Se proporciona un sistema digital de difusion multimedia (DMB) que puede proporcionar un servicio de difusion de datos multimedia que tiene una calidad de recepcion excelente, un metodo del mismo y un medio de grabacion reproducible por computadora para grabar un programa que implementa el metodo. El sistema DMB incluye una unidad codificadora para codificar una senal de entrada de audio/video; una unidad de sincronizacion para sincronizar el flujo de medios, datos adicionales, datos de determinacion de servicio interactivo que son emitidos por la unidad codificadora; una unidad de multiplexaje para multiplexar el flujo de medios emitidos por la unidad de sincronizacion; una unidad decodificadora de correccion de errores para realizar codificacion de correccion de errores adicionales sobre el flujo de medios emitidos por la unidad multiplexora; una unidad de intercalamiento para eliminar la correlacion temporal entre unidades byte adyacentes de un flujo de dados emitidos por la unidad codificadora de correccion de errores y una unidad transmisora para trasmitir un flujo de medios DMB emitidos por la unidad de intercalamiento al sistema DAB convencional y a otros sistemas digitales de difusion.
