    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce interference from other transmitters and other receivers by calculating an optimum weight vector for optimizing the signal-to-total- interference-signal ratio of an antenna beam based on data relating to mutual interference level. SOLUTION: The weight vector for optimizing the signal-to-total-interference- signal ratio (S/TI) in antenna output is generated, based on the data relating to the mutual interference level. Then, the optimum weight vector is stored and used in the same time slot in a later frame. Then, the S/TI is calculated, supplied to a cell controller 25 and finally supplied to the other cell controller inside a cluster as well. Simultaneously, a beam formation electronics forms a beam. The signals received by the K pieces of radiation antenna elements are multiplied with the corresponding components of the weight vector by a multiplier 42, the total sum is obtained and a radiation pattern for optimizing the S/TI in the antenna output is generated.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid deterioration in quality of an active speech and channel interruption by providing a multi-beam antenna whose direction is controllable to a base station in a time division multiplex permanent radio loop system and controlling a plurality of transmission and reception beams changed timewise and assignment of time slots in cross reference with each other and allowing the base station to make communication with a single terminal equipment in the assigned time slot. SOLUTION: A cell controller 25 based on information of a database 45 gives the instruction of configuring an antenna pattern to realize an optimum signal to interruption signal ratio to a transmission beam shape device 40a. The database 45 as information relating to an interference level between all possible channels in a cell and a possible channel in an adjacent cell and the information is updated by measuring signal strength periodically. A transmission frequency and a reception frequency are slightly different and a reception beam with an antenna pattern with a optimum signal to interference signal ratio is formed similarly.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cope with increase in demand of a CDMA(code division multiple access) system by configuring each terminal in a protection sector or a basic sector to use a code assigned from a proper group of a plurality of code groups. SOLUTION: The system is provided with a central base station 12 and many fixed terminals in communication with the base station 12. Terminals in protection sectors 14-21 in basic sectors 22-25 use other set codes to overcome potential interference among sectors caused by leakage of an antenna radiation pattern. In the case that a cell is divided into even number sectors, available codes are divided into three groups, that is, two groups for the protection sector and one group for a basic sector. When cells are divided into odd number sectors, available codes are divided into four groups, that is, three groups for the protections sectors and one group for the basic sector. The protection sector is selected narrower to the utmost within a required and sufficient range to overcome the possibility of interference among the sectors.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the background noise picked up in conference service from being transmitted to another conference participant by outputting a prescribed signal to a base station, which receives a control message generated in response to a muting request, in place of a signal received from a wireless station later. SOLUTION: When a user is to operate a mute button at the wireless station, the wireless station reports such a state to the base station. The base station uses the prescribed signal such as a signal expressing silence, for example, in place of the signal received during channel/time slot allocated to the muted wireless station. Namely, when the control message shows the start of a mute state, a channel decoder 430 at the base station sets a bad frame indicator(BFI) to a prescribed value and supplies the value to a voice decoder 420. Then, the voice decoder 420 is instructed to output the decoded voice characterizing silence to a transcoder 410.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the efficiency of a transmitter circuit of a portable telephone set by preparing a constitution where a receiver sends a control signal to a control means against the low intensity of the signal sent from a base station and the control means activates a power amplifier circuit to connect a driver amplifier circuit to the power amplifier circuit and to transmit a desired signal via an antenna. SOLUTION: A signal intensity meter of the receiver circuit of a portable telephone set has a detection circuit which detects the voltage of the signal received from a base station. When the received signal is lowered down to a prescribed level or a prescribed voltage level or less, the detection circuit sends an external control signal to a control means 19. The means 19 activates a power amplifier circuit 16 to operate a 1st three-point switch 20 and to connect the output of a driver amplifier circuit 14 to the input of the circuit 16. Meanwhile, a 2nd three-point switch 22 is operated to connect the output of the circuit 16 to an antenna 13. Thus, a desired transmission signal is sent to the circuit 16 from the circuit 14 and radiated via the antenna 13.

    Abstract: The along and perpendicular rails of a received signal (e.g., modulated usin g multi-phase shift keying) are rotated to compensate for frequency offsets be tween the carrier frequency of the received signal and the reference frequency of the local os cillator. The rotation angles are updated, based on the rotated along rail, during dotting sequence s in the received signal. In one implementation, the dotting sequences are detected based on t he rotate perpendicular rail. The beginnings of dotting sequences are detected by thre sholding the average on the perpendicular rail and the ends of dotting sequences are detected by analyzing the encoded data for non-dotting-sequence values. In a cordless phone application, diffe rent dotting sequences may be used to distinguish base-to-handset transmissions from hand set-to-base transmissions.
