    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize plural participant conference opening and tone/notice generating function by routing a wireless specific digital frame to a communication device via a data oriented network for information distribution without vocode processing. SOLUTION: A tone and notice generating service is provided, while a wireless specific digital frame form is transmitted via a transmission path between a 1st wireless communication device and an incoming side gateway. When a tone and a notice are sent to the 1st wireless communication device, a resource server, in cooperation with a feature server, generates a wireless-coded tone or notice. The wireless-coded tone or notice is sent to the 1st wireless communication device, where an audible tone or notice is generated. When plural participant conference is held, a 1st call is established via the communication of the wireless specific digital frame. The 1st call is held and a 2nd call is finished by using a digital wired form (e.g. PCM). Through vocode processing, the connection of the 1st call is re-negotiated, so as to match with the digital wired form of the 2nd call.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for performing a voice dispatch call in a digital communication system such as spread spectrum communication system. SOLUTION: When a call originating mobile unit sends a dispatch request and the request is received in a dispatch server (305), the dispatch call is started. A radio channel is established with each of active mobile units in a dispatch group (307). Next, the call originating mobile unit sends audio data and these data are received by the dispatch server (309). The audio data can be held in a buffer in the call originating mobile unit or dispatch server. Next, the dispatch server distributes one part of audio data to the active mobile unit in the dispatch group while utilizing the radio channel (311).

    Abstract: A telecommunication system routs real-time information traffic from an originating digital radio unit served by an originating network to a terminating unit served by a terminating network via an intermediate network interconnecting the originating and terminating networks. The originating digital radio unit has an encoder/decoder (e.g., a vocoder) for generating digital wireless frames fro m information that is input thereto. The originating network includes an originating node with an encoder/decoder for performing wireless-specific conversion of the digital wireless frames to digital wireline (e.g., PCM) traffic. The intermediate network includes an originating-end interface node with an encoder/decoder for compressing the digital wireline traffic for transport across the intermediate network. Optimization of communications routed between the originating and terminating units is achieved by routing the digital wireless frames without wireless-specific conversion bei ng performed at the originating node of the originating network nor compression conversio n being performed at the originating-end interface node of the intermediate network, such that the rate of information traffic throughput is maximized.
