Abstract: 56 In accordance with the present invention, there are provided processes for molding saturated crystalline polyester resins into a desired shape by supplying said resins to a molding machine, which processes are characterized in that the starting saturated crystalline polyester resin is heated in the molding machine to a temperature above its melting point and allowed to reach in a substantially molten state to a compression section of the molding machine, thereby molding the melted starting resin into the desired shape, or the starting saturated crystalline polyester resin is heated to a temperature above its melting point to bring to a substantially molten state and supplied to the molding machine, thereby molding the molten starting resin into the desired shape, and that the crystallizing temperature Tc2 of the molded article obtained thereby and the crystallizing temperature Tc1 satisfy the relationship of Tc1 - 20 ? Tc2 ? Tc1, and also molding equipments for saturated crystalline polyester resins employed therefor.

Abstract: The refillable polyester bottle of the invention has a mean crystallinity of 32 to 70 % at the bottle body, a methanol adsorption of 1,500 ppm or less at the same portion and a paraxylene adsorption of 300 ppm or less at the same portion. Therefore, the bottle is excellent in non-adsorptivity and heat resistance. According to the method of removing adsorbates on a polyester bottle of the invention, the adsorbates can be rapidly desorbed by holding the bottle in air of 40 to 150 DEG C or bringing the bottle into contact with water or water vapor heated at 40 to 150 DEG C.

CONSTITUTION:The subject method for producing a polyester is a method composed of a liquid-phase polycondensing step for polycondensing a dicarboxylic acid with a hydroxy compound and producing the saturated polyester, a shearing treating step for molding the aforementioned saturated polyester into chips, then subjecting the molded chips to shearing treatment and roughening the chip surfaces and a solid-phase polymerizing step for feeding the chips composed of the saturated polyester subjected to the shearing treatment to a solid-phase polymerization reactor and further polymerizing the chips.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a bottle made of saturated polyester having improved stress- cracking resistance by irradiating the bottom of a preform made of saturated polyester with radiation and orienting and blowing the preform. CONSTITUTION:Saturated polyester is molded to preform through known injection molding method, extrusion molding method, etc. The preform bottom of the preform acquired is irradiated with radiation from the bottom direction of the preform, but it is proper that radiation is applied while turning the preform as the vertical direction of the preform is used as an axis on the irradiation. The preform is heated up to an orientation proper temperature, and oriented and blow-molded, thus obtaining a bottle 1 made of saturated polyester consisting of a mouth plug section 2, an upper shoulder section 3, a drum section 4 and a bottom 5. When a fixed quantity of a crosslinking agent such as diallyl phthalate is blended with saturated polyester, the stress-cracking resistance of the bottle acquired is improved.
