Abstract: PURPOSE:To prepare a highly stretched bottle excellent in transparency, mechanical strength and gas barrier properties. CONSTITUTION:A preform is formed of polyester obtained from a dicarboxylic acid compound, a dihydroxy compound and terephthalic acid whose amount is 0.1-1.0 mol.pts. when the total amount of the dicarboxylic acid compound and the dihydroxy compound is 100 mol.pts. This preform is heated to be shrunk and subsequently highly stretched to prepare a polyester bottle.

CONSTITUTION:The present manufacture of polyethylenenaphthalate is characterized in such a manner that dicarboxylic acid containing 2,6-naphthalene dicarboxylic acid and a hydroxy compound containing ethylene glycol are subjected to polymerization condensation in liquid phase, whereby polyethylenenaphthalate is manufactured, following this, after the polyethylenenaphthalate is molded into chips, by conducting a sharing treatment to the chips, the chip surfaces are made into roughened surfaces.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a bottle made of saturated polyester having improved stress- cracking resistance by orienting and blow molding a preform made of saturated polyester and irradiating the bottom of the bottle acquired with radiation. CONSTITUTION:Saturated polyester is molded to preform through a means such as known injection molding method, extrusion molding method, etc. The preform is heated up to an orientation proper temperature, and oriented and blow molded. The bottom of a bottle obtained is irradiated with radiation from the bottle-bottom direction, but it is proper that radiation is applied while turning the bottle as the vertical direction of the bottle as an axis on radiation. When a fixed quantity of a crosslinking agent is blended with saturated polyester, the stress-cracking resistance of the bottle acquired is improved. The bottle 1 made of saturated polyester obtained is composed of a mouth plug section 2, an upper shoulder section 3, a drum section 4 and a bottom 5. Electron rays betarays, lambda rays, etc., are used as said radiation.

CONSTITUTION:The bottle is made in a shape of having a barrel part 4 below a plug part 2 and a support ring 7, and consists of polyester resin. Or, the barrel part is made in a double-layered structure that is laminated with polyester resin and polyamide resin, or in a multi-layered structure that is polyester resin is laminated with resin selected from copolymerized polyester resin formed of a and dicarboxylic acid constitutional unit, a dihydroxylic compound constitutional unit, and a multi-functional hydroxylic compound constitutional unit having at least three hydroxylic groups. The wall thickness is made 20-150mum and enabled to be buckled in the upper and lower direction during no-filling period.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a nonblocking chipped polyester resin composition by mixing PET with a specified copolyester in a specified ratio, melting the mixture, cooling the melt, forming the solid product into chips, roughening the surfaces of the chips and vacuum-drying them. CONSTITUTION:A copolyester resin comprising dicarboxylic acid component units (A) comprising 20-100mol% isophthalic acid component units and 80-0mol% terephthalic acid component units, dihydroxy compound component units (B) comprising 5-90mol% dihydroxyethoxyresorcinol component units and 95-10mol% ethylene glycol component units and 0.05-1pt.mol, per 100pts.mol component A, polyhydroxy compound component units having at least three hydroxyls is produced. 90-60wt.% this resin is mixed with 10-40wt.% polyethylene terephthalate resin, and the mixture is melted. The melt is cooled to form chips, which are agitated under a shearing force to roughen their surfaces, and the roughened chips are dried at a temperature >=100 deg.C in a vacuum to obtain a polyester resin composition.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To achieve a drastic improvement in the gas barrier property by producing a bottle from a polyethylene naphthalate resin in such a way that the distribution curves of the X-ray interference strength at a plurality of spots on the circumferential surface in the middle of the drumlike part have specific maximum values. CONSTITUTION:A bottle 1 consists of a mouth part 2, a shoulderlike part 3, a drumlike part 4, a peripheral bottom 5, and a bottom 6. It is observed that, with a probability of not less than 80% at the lowest estimate, the distribution curves of the X-ray interference strength at a plurality of spots on the circumferential surface in the middle of the drumlike part 4 have maximum values in the beta-angle ranges of 0 deg.+ or -20 deg. and 90 deg.+ or -20 deg.. To make such a bottle 1, first a prefoam is obtained from polyethylene naphthalate resin; the prefoam is made in a short form, with the diameter also reduced as occasion demands; the prefoam is so highly stretched as to bring the draw index to 130cm or more, and then subjected to blow molding. By subjecting the resulting prefoam to biaxial stretching and to molding by a molding machine a bottle 1 having a drastically improved gas-barrier property to oxygen or carbon dioxide is obtainable. The product is excellent also in heat resistance, transparency, and mechanical strength.

In addition, the average thickness coefficient tc at the center of a body except the bottle mouth defined by tc=tXfX10 (where t refers to the average thickness (mm) at the center of the body except the bottle mouth and f refers to the same as the above) is 0.2 or less, preferably 0.18 or less.
