Abstract:
A percolation network 101 of functionalised reduced graphene oxide (RGO) flakes 102, the percolation network configured to allow for hopping of charge carriers 103 between adjacent RGO flakes to enable a flow of charge carriers through the percolation network, and wherein the reduced graphene oxide flakes are functionalised to facilitate detectable changes in the flow of charge carriers in response to a stimulus to the percolation network. The percolation network may be used to form a device sensitive to light, strain, temperature of humidity. The RGO flakes may be evenly distributed, and they may overlap each other. The RGO flakes may comprise a surfactant which may increase the liquid-philicity or reduce the liquid-phobicity. The device may comprise interdigitated source/drain electrodes. The RGO may be deposited as an ink, which may then be dried. The surfactants may be removed once the RGO network is deposited
